datkido Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 (edited) First off, I wanna say a MASSIVE thanks to Miztah Razza for his Zlib compression tutorial without that this wouldn't be possible (I spent days trying to figure it out last year and only got as far as managing to compress files in zlib format but couldn't get them to match the wwe13 file sizes). Also thanks to tekken57 for creating x-packer and for being helpful whenever I message him. Now down to business! As you can tell from the title i've successfully modded the creation suite (some of you might remember I wanted to do this from last year, but couldn't because pac arhiver died). I decided to mod one of the default body shapes so I can create a better Curtis Axel because Axel has a unique body and non of the pre set muscle definitions look like him. *Update 11/21/2013 Kurt Angle screens added, and RVD complete I've fixed his attire to the correct singlet and the singlet design is a perfect fit (new screens of RVD coming soon). Kurt Angle is still in the early stages i still need to create his attire and fix some things on the face. Then after that I'm gonna go back and redo axel with a custom texture if i can find a good photo of him. Then Benoit then I'll release so people can test it out before I make the Wyatts. *Update* 11/19/2013 Ok guys I've made some progress. I still can't edit the default CAW textures just the bump maps, but I've found a work around. By replacing the logos in ed49.pac I can add new face textures that way (but there is a limited amount) and for people that use these logos you won't like this mod because it gets rid of them. So far I haven't needed to add any body textures as editing the bump alone has made the body look new. If people would like it, then I can create and release a creation suite mod, so you can create much more realistic looking CAWs. Here's the details of what would be included in the mod: Because there are only 12 base CAW textures it means I can only add a maximum of 12 new superstars (maybe less), so I'll only be adding superstars who aren't in WWE13 (as with X-Packer 9 we will be able to add these as DLC with no graphical problems etc) For the first release I will add all the files for you to create about 4-6 new superstars. People can feel free to create more if they want, but that's all I will be creating to start with, I may do more as the year goes on (new superstars may appear that I wanna add). So far, to install the mod you will need to replace your ed02.pac ed04.pac and ed49.pac they are all in the edit folder (maybe more as i create more superstars) I will provide you with the formulas to morph all the CAWs so they match my screenshots, and detailed instructions on how to install the mod. Wrestlers I have planned are; Curtis Axel (I know we can import wwe12 models, but they don't work perfectly), RVD, Bray Wyatt and I'm open to suggestions for some more (Maybe the rest of the Wyatt Family?). Please only suggest superstars who aren't in this years game and who weren't in last years, I only want to add NEW people that it won't be possible to add as DLC with this method. Here are some new screens of my progress so far, Axel is near complete and RVD i'm not happy with yet it's still early stages with him. If anyone knows where I can find the singlet files in the creation suite that will help me create better RVD attire. Axel is made using a modified wwe12 texture (needs cleaning up to fit the CAW better) and RVD is a custom texture the SVR2011 RVD texture didn't look good on it. gazwefc Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 If this works, would they then be able to be uploaded to CC as caws?
datkido Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 If this works, would they then be able to be uploaded to CC as caws? sorry no, this is for jtag/rgh only. as far as i know it's not possible for this to work on a non modded console.
gamingsinceatari Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 This is great news! Can't wait to see if u can get some faces on there!

Im guessing the advantage to this is that you can morph any textures with ease then? And add caw parts such as tops/jackets etc Edited November 4, 2013 by gazwefc
nikethebike Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Are there 12 base textures? As in we could realistically mod 12 characters with this method. Would be a good way to add the characters that I miss from the game such as Sid and perhaps Lex Luger.

Would be a good way to add the characters that I miss from the game such as Sid and perhaps Lex Luger. there's 16 folders in ed02 so i'm guessing the other 4 are divas... i spotted some diva textures when browsing. and yeah its great for adding your favourite superstars, i've worked on the morph and it looks pretty good in game now, it really makes a diff having the correct physique, btw i noticed caws sweat this year! And add caw parts such as tops/jackets etc for me the advantage is having caws that are more realistic looking (or look as close a possible to in game models). Every year I tend to create less than 10 caws because i only create my favourite people who didn't make the game, so this is a perfect way for me have them looking as good as possible. tekken57 Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Great work here bro. Looking forward to see what you come up with. If this works, would they then be able to be uploaded to CC as caws? No, the caw file only references the assets on the disc. So the person who downloads it will see the default assets, not the ones which have been replaced.
UndertakerWLF Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Great work and it is good to see something else being modded
datkido Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 I'm working on editing the face texture but i'm having trouble figuring out what format to save the tga files in so they work in the game... the bump files are standard tga, so that was easy. The actual texture files in the creative suite are .obj (which is a 3d file format normaly used for actual objects like the body model not for textures). I have a few obj editors (because i mod fifa too and that uses obj) and when you open them in an obj editor the 3d space is just blank.... there's nothing there. Tried it in blender, 3dsmax, and photoshop and all with the same result, it opens the files but then there's just a blanks space. The textures only become viewable if you rename to .tga but doing that causes problems in game... they just don't work properly. it doesn't crash the game but it can't read them properly so you just get a solid blue colour. I'm not sure if i'm going to be able to figure out what format the texture files are, they aren't really needed for modding the CAW body, but to get a truly unique face you need them. I have axel's bump files for his face in my game that works fine so his wrinkles and facial features are correct but i just need his proper texture to complete the look, so if any1 knows what format to save CAW textures in please let me know.

Yeah, I took a stab at this last year as well and ran into the same issues with the face textures. The normals work perfectly fine, but the texture itself was some mashed up thing of colors. Props on getting as far as you have, though. Very cool to see.
Miztah Raza Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 You have to reduce the colors to 256, that may be what's causing the problems.
datkido Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 You have to reduce the colors to 256, that may be what's causing the problems. i've done that still no luck though... i just can't crack what type of file it is that yukes used... It's to do with being able to change the skin color in game because i noticed if i edit the alpha channel on the bump... the shine(transparency) slider no longer works in game. My hunch is the tga's for the skin need to be saved with a very specific color palette or something like that. Here's something interesting i found out... because i have a mac, you can preview any file that you can open if u press the space bar when it's highlighted... when i preview an unedited (non bump) .tga from the creation suite it has a blue tinge to it like the first screen below. but when you open it, it looks like the 2nd screen... if you make any changes and save the blue tinge is then gone if you go to preview it again. I need to find out what exactly is causing that blue tinge in the original file and how can i recreate it... i dunno how i can do that though, had no luck with my searches so far.
nCo2K15 Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 This is too awesome. I FUCKING HATE THE CAW MODE BODY TEXTURES. <3 Keep going, please. - The D
The D Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Using this kind of method, is there any way to alter the texture of the clothing in CAW mode too? How much do you think will be possible?
BrotchMrToast Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Guys, give the preset guy the Kurt Angle textures...just for the f*cks sake!
datkido Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 Using this kind of method, is there any way to alter the texture of the clothing in CAW mode too? How much do you think will be possible? it's possible but we need to figure out exactly how to save the files first. files that allow you to change to color in game need to be saved a special way.
Acid6D94 Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Last year I had re-worked nearly the whole CAW mode texture set as far as body and face goes. I had just changed each to a more realistic looking version of the default textures. As far as how the files are saved I can't remember, but I will probably be doing the same this year so I if I find out, I'll let you guys know. BTW here is what are in each of the ed pac files from last year, I'm sure a few things may have changed, but most are probably the same. ed00 - Nothing ed02 - CAW Body ed04 - CAW Face ed05 - CAW Eyes ed06 - CAW Eyebrows ed07 - ??? ed08 - CAW Lips ed09 - CAW Teeth ed10 - CAW Hair ed11 - CAW Bras ed12 - not quite sure ed13 - Same as ed12... ed14 - CAW Facial Hair ed15 - same as ed12 ed16 - CAW Hats ed17 - CAW Masks ed18 - CAW Glasses ed19 - CAW Horns ed20 - CAW Headwear Other ed21 - CAW Female Tops ed22 - CAW Male Tops ed24 - CAW Jackets ed25 - CAW Outfits ed26 - CAW Elbow Pads ed27 - CAW Arms & Wrists ed28 - CAW Gloves ed29 - CAW Underwear ed30 - CAW Tights ed31 - CAW Male Pants ed32 - CAW Female Pants ed33 - CAW Knee Pads ed34 - CAW Socks ed35 - CAW Boots ed36 - CAW Scars ed37 - CAW Marks & Scars ed38 - CAW Makeup ed39 - CAW Facepaint ed40 - Appears to be nothing ed41 - Also appears to be nothing ed42 - ...Nothing ed43 - ...Nothing ed44 - CAW Piercings ed45 - CAW Body Accessories ed48 - CAW Belts ed49 - CAW WWE Logos ed50 - Nothing ed51 - CAW Flags ed52 - Nothing ed53 - CAW Numbers ed56 - CAW Letters ed57 - Nothing ed58 - Not sure, looks like leg hair or something ed59 - Same as ed58 ed60 - Looks like arm hair, not sure though ed61 - Looks to be chest hair, so I'm guessing the others were correct ed62 - CAW Mask designs ed63 - Nothing ed64 - CAW Kickpads ed65 - Nothing ed66 - ...Blue A ed67 - ...Another blue A ed72 - CAA Designs

I've only modded the body files of the preset 'size 1' template so far, I will eventually try to mod one of the preset faces so I can get the face to look more like axel. Here's the screen of what i've done so far (please ignore the morph i haven't worked on that yet, the screens are just meant to show you the new body physique i've imported in. the arms, legs, and face are all still the default textures). p.s i know i can just import wwe12 axel into my game, but i don't like replacing superstars, so i prefer this method until we can add superstars. it's weird having axel come out and being referred to as justin gabriel or whoever you replace them with, i prefer to create. That's quite an impressive piece modding, so you're trying to mod the 14 template faces, would you also be able too add in hairs or is it just replacing that is possible?
UndertakerWLF Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 The question is...is it possible to add any previous CAW parts say from the LOWM game?
OverTheEdge Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 The question is...is it possible to add any previous CAW parts say from the LOWM game? I'd say probably not, as nothing else from that game or even from the next two years after it (at least in terms of .pacs) has been compatible with '13 or 2K14.
Chris2000 Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 The question is...is it possible to add any previous CAW parts say from the LOWM game? Seen that game in shop very cheap, never bought it tho, what was in its CAW mode
datkido Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 Made progress with this guys, new info and screens added to the first post.
