NWOldskool
Thanks for everything, Adam. Take care. This. This. A million times, This. This. If you need someone to talk to, I am here.
Dr Vries
I know that I received a couple of PMs over the last days but as you can imagine the holidays and my bday kept me busy. I will answer them all, so don't worry about that. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Goodbye all...it's been a fun ride, but this is definitely it for me now though. This post post means a lot. If this post actually means what it says it should evoke more than just a few "thank yous". If this post is in fact the goodbye of AJSim it means that things have changed. AJ has been the difference maker for the last 2 years. I hope that everybody who downloaded a caw that featured the work of AJ knows how many hours of work he spent on it. If you ever tried to create a face texture from scratch I'm sure you know how much work it is to make it look right. This is also one of AJs most important features. To make it look "right" is simply not enough. It has to look perfect. PERFECT! I can't imagine how much energy it costs to WORK on dozens of textures for caws in such a short time. I know that we are talking about a game but make no mistake about it, this IS work. To take time out of the little free time he has to help so many others, including myself is admirable. Admirable isn't even a strong enough word. He carried others and made them look good. I fear that his own talent as caw creator was sometimes forgotten and he was reduced to being "the texture guy". It is true. He is THE texture guy but he is so much more than that. He is a talented caw creator, a funny, smart, strong, helpful and talented man that managed to gather a group of people around him that quickly became friends. Now we are getting personal. AJ is my friend. One of the closest friends I have and not just on these boards. I don't call many people my friends but I'm am proud to call Adam my friend. If his post actually means that we have to say goodbye to AJSim the CAWMaker I can honestly say that my heart is broken. His talent and personality will be greatly missed. Without AJ it won't be the same to me. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now I have to rethink my own Status. NickBreaker
I'm stunned. AJ's caws in 12 were some next level shit, and made me jealous of Hippo! To be invited to the nco changed the way I created and led to some really genuine laughs between the team that AJ gathered. His work on 2k14, and as Doc says, it is work, speaks for itself. If the Wyatt family is AJ's 'swan song' then it is suitable. 3 very different caws, with different textures used all over to enhance the game for everyone. A very unselfish, funny and cool guy. If he's done, then belive me, he's gone above and beyond countless times. AJ Sim = Good Egg
TheHippopotomus
Really hoping someone hacked his account or something... All I can say is thanks for everything. When I look at the best 20 CAWs of this year and last, I realize that almost all of them have AJ's name attached, that should say how great he is at this. I appreciate all the work you have put in to our CAWs and I've truly enjoyed all the crazy convos we have had over the past 3 years. Even if you stop creating textures and CAWs I hope you still maintain a presence on the boards. BrotchMrToast
I don’t post often on here, simply because I just don't need to. Those CAWs speak for themselves (in a positive way). And every time I saw a great CAW, texture or anything regarding the CAW mode, it most of the time had AJs name on it. I don't know him personally, but this IS an end of an era. You were an awesome CAW creator and a great human being, as said by many. You better have great stuff in your life to spend your time with, if it stops you from CAWing. TheBirdSolution
Right, Doc's correct, a simple thank you doesn't really suffice. Let me go into a little detail here: I've been following AJ's stuff since the very first Kane he posted on the '12 boards over at the other site (or as its now known, the graveyard). From that moment, I knew he had that something that only a select few CAW makers ever have. I took every opportunity I could to help him and Hippo out, just because they seemed like the kind of guys you'd want to hang around with. First thing I ended up doing was the original Angle render. It wasn't particularly good looking back on it now, but the fact he'd accepted what I had produced was a huge honour for me. Hell, I remember when he asked me to join the nCo. I'd offered to help out with the themes, he gave me the login, I made a quip about Cliff Richard for some reason, and through that I met all of you guys, the Docs and the Oldsies of this world, who I'm now proud to call my friends. I hadn't released a freaking thing before I joined the nCo. Hell, I'll be honest, I hadn't MADE a CAW before I joined! But the fact is AJ put his faith in me, and I'd like to thing I lived up to that as best as I could. AJ, Adam, if this really is IT (I'd make a retirement joke, but I think I've already made them all), thank you so much. Working with you over the past two years has been an absolute pleasure. You've been supportive, honest, helpful, collected, useful, hilariously creepy (as Seany will attest too), strong, and quite simply awesome. You never once bullshitted me or beat around the bush, and despite the shite that you've had to deal with over the last year or so personally, you never once failed to put a smile on the group, the community, or hell, my face. I really hope this isn't goodbye, but if that's the way it must go, then if I'm ever in Liverpool, you can 'ave one on me. ...you'll have to buy it though, I won't get served. - Julian
NWOldskool
AJ, I really don't know what to say. You gave me a chance when you had first PM'd me about joining the nCo. I was honestly ecstatic. We haven't always seen eye to eye, because of those two guys on Caws, who I don't want to mention, but I've always a ridiculous amount of respect for you. I wasn't even a great CAWer when you asked me to join the nCo initially, but you saw potential I hadn't even see in myself. You helped me flourish as a creator and as a person. I was just a kid who had graduated High School. So much has changed since then. You're always there if I needed a good laugh, or if I wanted to talk CAWing. You're just a great person. You've always been very kindhearted towards everyone. You're one of the main reasons I enjoy CAWing as much as I do. You're one of the main reasons I've improved so quickly. Seeing you leave is like having a good friend pass away. You will always have a special place in my heart (No homo though ) When you PM'd me to rejoin the team, I was just as happy when you had first asked me. I am glad we settled our differences before this happened. Because if we hadn't I would be crushed. Your work will be miss, but more importantly you as a person will be missed. Whether it be your humour, your kindhearted personality or just as a respectful figure CAWers strive to be. I'll miss you buddy and I hope you continue post. Because I honestly cannot imagine Smacktalks without ya, bud. #AJIsSmacktalks

Ballard
Doc is right, a simple thank you doesn't even begin to do all your hard work justice. You've been a true leader for this community and a great bud. All the countless hours you've spent helping us all out have been greatly appreciated. I wish you all the best and hope to see you around here again sometime in the future. Enjoy your much deserved retirement, pal. Thank you, AJ. *clap clap clap*

So not jumping the gun myself...but will say this sums up what I want to say.
