How to import paint tool images for RGH/Jtag.

I need to try this, in the past I always used Brienj´s Tool, I hope he would make one this year.

Brien's tool would only need altering, like the way he made the '12 tool compatible with '13. Obviously, retail users would need fixes again though. However, there are so many awesome CAW makers, and so many people willing to fix for them :)

EDIT: I've heard Brien isn't making a comeback. Some say he may.. I don't know. Perhaps with his permission, somebody with the knowledge could look into making the '13 tool compatible?

When I upload my arc files, I get arc.bak file, why?

Thats a backup of it before you clicked update. So the one you want to use you pressed update on, the backup is what it is before you pressed update.

OK I tried this three times and it doesent work  , do I need edit ed49.pac file in Hex editor?

X-Packer creates .bak files which are backup files.

You don't need to change anything with a hex editor. I noticed a mistake I made in the tutorial, I've fixed it now. When re-compressing the file I had left out the bolded words "8. Open command prompt, drag 'xbcompress.exe' into command prompt, press space then drag 'ed49.pac' into command prompt, press space again and drag 'ed49.pac into command prompt again, press enter, type in Yes, press enter again."

Yeah I use this method, and I use T002.pac because otherwise the images do get damaged. I don't know why they do, and for some reason only the first 3 images in the pach works, so it takes a lot of time to import many images. It crashes if you go past the fourth image, which is usually full of what looks like static. You can use T001.pac but only the first and third images work correctly, the second is damaged and sometimes the third has a static bar across the top.

QuickBMS is used for extracting .bpe files. It's nothing needed specifically for this tutorial, but I planned on adding another tutorial on extracting a .ch pac and it is needed for that, so I just added it in the tool set.

You R right man but its better than nothing

Bj created 2 tools for pt last year I think the one which uses xdk ftp method could be useful & may get compatible with this game with some professional knowledge

Yeah it's definitely better than nothing.

I wish I knew how to make the amazing stuff BrienJ does, that xdk method was so quick and worked amazingly.

you don't have to re compress it, the game reads uncompress file

I tried this, step for step, and unfortunately, when I went to create a logo, and chose "wwe designs" They were all just different colored Big Show designs, and around #55 or so, it just freezes up my xbox. Every time. I dont know what I did wrong, but I can never get this stuff to work for me lol

I've updated the tutorial. Since the game reads uncompressed files you don't have to compress it. I discovered that when you compress it, that's what damages the images, and crashes the game if you try to view those damaged images.

Well, this time the logos were at least normal, not all Big Show's Shoe logo, but still, right when i get to one of Cena's logo's, the whole 360 just freezes up :( Oh well. Just gonna keep trying i guess. Trial and error lol

I run all my games off of a USB TB Hard Drive, so when i update my arcs, the ".bak" files are in the folder with the rest, is that my problem maybe?

I run all mine off of a usb hard drive as well. What I do is I have all my modding files on my PC and then I just replace the needed files on the hard drive. I don't put the .bak files with the game itself.

If you follow part one of Tekken's tutorial you can keep from having to update you .arc files each time, and you can just leave the updated .arc files for the uncompressed ed49.pac.

Quick question, does anyone have a list of spots not to use? I noticed some of my designs are changed to a red color when I do this. I didn't keep track of which ones they are but I will start if nobody else has seen this.

I also ran into a problem with my game crashing when I reached a certain logo, but that may have been because of compressing the pac file again, I will try it later but glad I wasn't the only one.

Either way, thanks for the tutorial Acid.

No problem. I haven't tested them all, but I do know spot 5 and 9 on T002.pac which is the legend killer logo and Orton's gas mask alter the color of the image.
