How to import paint tool images for RGH/Jtag.

I thought I'd make a tutorial for anyone who doesn't know how to use Tekken's method for the PT hack using X-packer.

 

First off you will need the following things.

1. X-Packer

2. XBCompression(I believe BrienJ's pac extractor works as well)

3. Jtag/RGH rip of WWE2k14

4. OPTPiX iMageStudio

 

Tool Set - Download (None are mine, credit goes to original creators)

First off we need to create the image you want to inject.

 

1. Open any image editing software such as photoshop or gimp. Re-size your image to 128x128 or 256x256 and if you want any transparency save your image as .png.

 

2. Open OPTPiX iMageStudio and open your 128x128 or 256x256 image. Click image>color reduction, select 256 colors(8 bits), then click on the alpha tab, make sure 'Reduce color including Alpha value' and 'Protect completely transparent/opaque area' are checked. Click Color reduction then a new window should have opened, if so click finish. Then save the image as .tga.

Now we need to decompress, inject and re-compress your pac.

 

1. Find the 'ed49.pac' within the edit folder of your 2k14 game rip. (Remember to always backup your original pac)

 

2. Open command prompt & drag 'xbdecompress.exe' into command prompt, then press space, drag in your 'ed49.pac', press space again, drag in your 'ed49.pac' again and type '.uncompress'(without the ' '), then press enter.

 

3. Open X-packer, click file>open>xbox360/ps3 pac or press ctrl-x. Then extract 'T002'. Click file>open>xbox360/ps3 pach or press ctrl-3. 

 

4. Inject the .tga image you created earlier into one of the spots. I chose '001E' for my image. (0022 & 0026 seem to alter the color of the image. I've only tested the first 10 slots, more may alter the color.)

 

5. Click file>open>xbox360/ps3 pac or press ctrl-x. Now open 'ed49.pac.uncompress' and inject the 'T002.pac' back into its spot.

 

6. Click Update Arc and update both 'plist360.arc' & 'plist360_4x3.arc' files.

 

7. Rename the 'ed49.pac.uncompress' to 'ed49.pac'

 

8. Now just replace the 'ed49.pac'  'plist360.arc' & 'plist360_4x3.arc' files on your xbox, then go to the paint tool, select WWE Designs and scroll down till you find your imported image, save it as a paint tool, and you're done. If you want the original wwe designs back just replace the modded files with the original.

This method worked for me, and credit goes to Tekken57 for his X-Packer and the tutorial for this method in WWE'12 & HotavioH for his tutorial on how to decompress .pac files. I just combined the two tutorials to make this one for WWE2k14.

Hmmm my ed49.pac/T001.pach seems to contain .obj files not textures?

hey acid the EPAC Changed to the EPK8 wont open in xpacker for me get a error plus with the 0 at the end or no ??

Yeah I opened my T001.pach and it didn't have textures either, my T002.pach does however. I don't really know what's in T002.pach because I'm not real familiar with X-Packer just yet.

 

EDIT: I just realized when I checked that I didn't rename the 0000.pac to 0000.tga. There are textures in the T001.pach.

 

@Twistedmisery666 Mine kept doing that before I decompressed it, I assume you've already decompressed it if you have the EPAC header. I don't really know how to help you on this one sorry. Oh and I believe I've seen some of the .pac files have a 0 after the header.

i need to import punks correct tats for the caw head mode.

EDIT: It was nothing you did wrong, I had given wrong instructions, sorry. On the ed49.pac you don't need to change the header from EPAC to EPK8. When I was writing the tutorial I must have been thinking of extracting textures from ch.pac files. I updated the first post with the correct instructions.

 

I'm also going to try and write a few more tutorials for different things related to textures. Maybe the process of editing a ch.pac, which isn't far off from this tutorial but there are a few differences.

Yep. This is the method I used for my Bam Bam that I started a few days ago.

It still works like a charm..

Here is the decompressed ed49.pac, I can confirm that it opens in x-packer already. All you need to do is inject your texture and re-compress.

Hello a newbie her but I consider myself capable of learning. I have always wanted to learn how to import custom textures into the WWE paint tool. I have a ps3 and was wondering if this method will work with it. Also, is it required to jailbreak the ps3 to accomplish this. Also by doing the jailbreak and paint tool hack will I be able to be online in WWE 2k14. Can anyone give me a quick intro on how to do this or forward me via email a link to a guide for the ps3 jailbreak and paint tool import? Thanks again guys !!!

Jailbreaking and going online is usually a no no.

kim666 used tekken's wwe 12 tut and said it worked.

does Brienj's extract/decompress tool work with 2k14? Anyone successfully decompress bg pacs?

followed this tut step by step and it isnt working for me. Surprising because I used this method in yrs prior. freezes my system everytime. Anyone having success with other slots besides 001E?
