WWE 2K14: Chris Jericho vs CM Punk WM 28 match bugged?

Ok, I've failed this match 4 times now in the story mode because the goal is to lock on the Anaconda Vise for the win, right? Well, everytime I try to lock it on when Jericho is grounded, he CONSTANTLY reverses it, and seemingly the Vise can't be applied from a standing position this year...HELP! I think this match is bugged out....

I found if you try to quick and the person isn't wore down enough that will happen. I learned that early on in other matches, so when I locked it on the first time it worked.

Yeah, I'm not locking it on too early...he's at critical, he has taken a GTS, and about 5 top rope elbow drops, and he's bloody...yet he keeps constantly reversing the Vise. I don't understand, and it's really pissing me off.

Because it Jericho is GOD! Babe!!!! Try playing the match again and change Punk's moveset a little bit

afaik changing movesets does not apply to the 30yowm mode

at least didnt apply to the attitude mode in 13

Try and get Jericho to critical. So that his head, arms, legs and body are red. Constantly put him in head submission holds, that can help getting the Anaconda Vise to victory.

I'll try this, and maybe change the difficulty. This could be the issue though, his head was read, and body for the most part, but hardly any damage was done to his arms. I'll see what happens, and report back after a bit.

Had the same problem with John Cena vs HBK..changed the difficulty to Easy and it worked

Good news guys, I worked the arms, and the head all match, and when the time came, I got the Vise on Jericho, and beat him Thank God! Didn't even have to change the difficulty. This can be closed now. Thanks for all your help.

I haven't made it to that match yet on 30 Years of WM but I have found that changing the difficulty from normal to easy makes it much simpler to beat.  Especially since the AI is mad competitive and aggressive this year!  I can't imagine playing the game on legend because I'd straight up get my ass kicked
