RVD Update:

- Changed hair colour

- Increased jaw outine

- Increased space between eyes

- Improved face texture

- Gave him more of a tan to match his current skin colour

- Adjusted hairline

- Shaped hair object (I don't think I can get it better than this)

-Started working on the singlet (it's a pain to align)

- Decreased chin depth

Still to do

- Normals for face, singlet and body

- Texture for singlet

- Skin colour matching

- Shaping and texturing of boots

- Get rid of knee brace (awaiting bugsy's model)

- Make the arm bands bigger

- Shape ponytail

I was going to do some alt attires but the singlet is taking a very long time to shape and texture so I don't think I'll have time.

That looks a million times better already. Incredible job here. The adjustments you made to the hair are great--the hairline is perfect. The changes to the face make everything look a lot better now as well. That was one hell of an update.

You should try to bring the hair foward a little more

Thanks guys.

@bugsy, Are you sure, because his hairline is quite high?

I agree, Tekken. You nailed the hairline--at least I think so. I don't know if it's that small bit of textured hair sticking out in front of the 3D hair model that he's referring to or not, but that would be an easy fix on the texture.

I made the hairline a bit untidy as it looks more realistic. Had another go at shaping the hair and I managed to get it shaped closer to the head making it look more slicked back. Made a few more face tweaks as well.

I see what you mean about the head looking too small for the body now. It fine in motion, will take a look at resizing it if I get time but it's going to be tough to do because of the individual rigging of all the parts.

Just the attire and knee guards to fix.

Tekken this RVD is suberb, thanks a lot , are you going to replace the one from DLC4?

Do You need any help on the singlets? I got some done I just need the base.

Posted (edited)

@motishow, yes I am using the same slot.

@auday, that will really help. Sending you a pm now.

@codes, nope. SCSA (with a ton of modelling work) is the base.

I have one more mod which I am working on at the moment. That will probably be my last mod for this years game. Will preview something when I make some progress.

@waleed, I would try the miz

Love your work but something is wrong with this attire

the shoulder straps looked better and narrower on the older versions

Posted

I agree but if look at the shape of the shoulder straps on the old version, it's incorrect around the traps. I hand drew the straps and tried a number of different's widths but these were the only ones which look good in game. The problem is that the arm objects connect in the same area .

While this isn't accurate it actually looks pretty good in game. Brave and Auday are working on alt's, maybe they'll have better luck.

Hallo Tekken

Have you tried to work on a 3d Model Exporter or any stuff like that ? I mean we have simply all Wrestlers to use but we cannot inject/import it. So SVR2011(RVD) or Legends of Wrestlemania pacs. Is there a possibility to make such program to import the old Wrestlers in 2k14 - Or do you know any person that can do that ? For a Programmer this is not difficult but i dont know anyone.

I am a programmer and it's extremely difficult. I've been trying to code an exporter for months with no success. There are a lot of differences between the older format such a bone type, header data, scaling, etc. Since 3d modeling is not my area of expertise, I could not figure out most of the model format.

I've looked into importing only the vertices and faces from older models but due to the way the older models were rigged, this also did not work.

I asked for help on zen tax but got no responses. If you know anyone who can help, point them in my direction as I've hit a dead end.

Take a look at the discussion in my x-Rey thread for more info .

Great update to RVD, facially it's looking final. Is there any way you could look into reducing the muscularity around his shoulders and arms though? Also, is it possible to make the singlet straps thinner?

Posted

That's looking great, dude. I'd say model-wise that's as good as it's going to get. Hell, it looks better than his 2011 model did. The only changes I see left are texture related. As others have mentioned, the thickness of the straps on his singlet are probably the biggest issue. I agree that the way they contorted to his traps before looked odd and this does look better, but it also throws the singlet and overall look of things way off. Other than that, I think the tape around his thumbs could be quite a bit shorter, and finally his name on his kickpads shouldn't be nearly as condensed as it is.

You've definitely got the hardest part out of the way, though, and that was everything with the model. Everything from the face to the hair to the body/gear looks awesome.

Posted

@theD, are sure his arms are meant to be thinnner? I used the pics below for reference when shaping the arms and shoulders. If you still think it needs to be thinner, I'll reduce them further.

@OTE, I'll fix the tape around the fingers. For the boot logos, I can't make make them bigger as the boots were short boots and I had to stretch the vertices. If you place a logo on that area, it appears distorted. It's either short logo's or no logos at all. Although in TNA he did have smaller RVD logo's on his boots.

I will try to see I can shape the straps a bit better, already spent half a day getting the way that they are at the moment. Going to see if I can reduce the inside part a bit more so that it doesn't affect the movement of the arms.

By comparison I think you're right. I think the issue is the shoulder width, but fuck altering that as I imagine that would be seriously time consuming. I think the straps are throwing the shoulder area off for me anyway. I'm being incredibly picky anyway; you've done an amazing job.

That's true. I guess we all kind of are. It looks amazing as is already--and if you're pleased with it, Tekken, then that's all that should matter. Everything with the singlet is just a matter of the texture anyway, so if any of us have that big of a problem with it, we could always try adjusting it on our own. That's not something you should feel obligated to do--especially after putting all the work into it that you have so far.

I've fixed the fingers already and will if I get time to work on the shoulders a bit.

This is my next and probably final mod for the year:
