Thedeadmanrising Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) I know I have not been up here like I usually do but there is a situation that needs to be notified.I was on WWE2K's web and I saw that Hollywood Hulk Hogans overall is 88, then I look at others some superstars, and I felt his was a little bit too low. But the worst thing I noticed was when I found out John Cenas overall present(95) and retro(92) were higher than: Macho Mans, Jericho, CM Punk, and more. I felt like there was something wrong? I don't want no Cena hater accusing thrown at me, but I feel that Cenas overall of 95 was way too high, and the guys I listed are better than him. I want to know you all think of this? Tom Angel Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Ratings don't only include talent, but also how over he is and how popular he is, and the amount of wins in the period the game is set and of course, Cena is the face of the company, so he wins a lot in real life, hence the high rating. Punk is currently lower, bouncing on the top mid-card with Curtis Axel so obviously he will have a lower rating. Had some losses, a heel turn, gained more booing from the average WWE fan (not talking about the die hard fans). The only real gripe I have is Del Rio being too low. He's been WHC for ages and wins pretty much everything, so he needs a boost. The rest seems quite spot on to me. Quote
El Guapo Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I don't really agree that the 'Overall' rating is that much of a good barometer of a wrestler. For example, whenever I've made an Ultimate Warrior CAW in the past, his overall has been pretty low because you can't realistically give him a high grade for submission skill, tag-team abilities, High-flying, etc. Despite those low scores and low overall rating, he's still a tough wrestler due to his high grappling skills, etc Quote

He lost to The Rock @ WM, he was the first person in history to cash in MITB and not come out with the title. He was srewed out of the smackdown MITB by AJ. So his rating should have been 93 instead of 96. Edited October 23, 2013 by Thedeadmanrising Quote
RJJ Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Hollywood Hogan @ 88 is a big slap to all the real wrestling fans. We're talking about the guy who almost ran the great Vince McMahon and his company out of business. That's very disrespectful in my book. Punk @ 94 - That's way too high. You don't give Prime Austin and Current Punk the same overall ratings. Hell that's higher than prime Hogan. lol Retro Lesnar should've been higher. Let's not forget, he dominated the WWE in his first run. He's beaten everyone, from Rock to Hogan. Retro Rock @ 93 - lol so..Rock in his prime=Current HHH?! ...and I can go on and on, but I'll leave it at this. Atleast, we can change those attributes by buying "Accelerator"(Of course lol). Quote

That's the reason why someone more talented like Ziggler gets a lower rating, he's not as over with the general WWE fan. Triple H, who is now a part-timer and slowing down, he's over as hell with the crowd, the pop he gets. Triple H should be a 91 now but because of how over he is, he gets more points. It's fairly simple. Edited October 23, 2013 by Tom Angel Quote

Personally, I'm fine with Punk being a 94, but opinions clearly differ. Quote

best in the world Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I think those ratings have as much to do with politics than anything else. I noticed that Hollywood Hogan's ratings was much lower than guys like HBK, Austin, Rock, Taker, and HHH. All of which whom are on good terms with WWE at the current time, coincidence? No. Hogan would have gotten a higher in-game rating if he'd still been with WWE and not working for TNA. And how does HHH get higher ratings than either Austin or Rock? Austin & Rock both dominated the Attitude era but have lower scores than Triple H. I don't see how that is even possible. Same for guys like Goldberg, Macho Man, Ric Flair, etc who were all much better in their primes than HHH has ever been yet they have lower overall scores. Seems more politically based than based on merit and skill because their is no freaking way HHH was ever more over or more popular than Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, or even Undertaker. Quote
