Smacktalks Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-jxPqe8T0kLast Thursday I was invited down to the 2K Sports offices to try out an early build of WWE 2K14, which had around 18 Superstars available to use and 8 playable matches from the 30 Years of WrestleMania mode.Check out the video embedded above to see how I got on and my initial hands-on preview of this years game.Source: Smacktalks.org Quote
COZZA SAID SO Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Nice Video Paul. I noticed you confirmed 'The Streak' Mode. Do you have any information on this or there is nothing yet for it. If there was any info does any of Takers matches from 30YOWM feature also in this mode? Quote
best in the world Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 thanks for posting that video! Looks like 2K did an excellent job overseeing the changes in this year's game which I am very impressed with! Quote
schsammydeanie Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 I feel like all of these updates should have been in the previous game anyways, it feels like 2K are dragging this out because they're out of ideas. There's really not enough in this game to convince me to buy it. I've owned every WWE game since the beginning and I'm severely disappointed with this one. The only thing I'm mildly excited about is the fact that they look knocked out after a finisher rather than the usual lying down animation. Quote
BEAST987 Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Ok most information you revealed we already knew , but cheers anyway . The thing I want to know is that can you fight in the crowd area in Falls Count Anywhere Match it was heavily rumored to be in. Also Bret Hart should have a OMG , The Figure 4 Leglock around the ringpost , and others who have attempted this move I think Jericho, Edge or Punk ???? Quote
Smacktalks Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Like I said, I only played the same version that was at PAX, so a lot of the info was already revealed. For Create Modes, Universe, etc. i'll be trying those next Friday, so I cant answer questions on them until after that. Quote
Alex™ Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 You were right about the A.I though, it is pretty much the same from what i played at PAX, and the AI was surely way better. Loved the match pace. About Hogan's comeback, i didn't have that in the version i played at PAX. Maybe it was restricted at the time, but i'm sure i didn't get that in the version i played. Quote

If you have been buying these games from the beginning[as have most of us here], you should be excited for 30 Years of WrestleMania and the Universe changes. Besides, 2K didn't have a full calendar year to do this game which makes the changes they did make even more impressive. You can't expect miracles in short time frames especially since there probably won't be any major changes until WWE2K15. That is pretty much common knowledge amongst the wrestling game fans and if you didn't know, then you must not know how the process works. Some people will complain about anything though Edited October 2, 2013 by best in the world Quote
zhigge Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 i am just annoyed at the current roster.and lack of divas.. i don't care too much for caw making as i lack imagination lol. I only do it if its required to play a mode. However with the inclusion of heads i'm finally going to use it. Somehow i don't think we will have alot of diva heads so i don't see the point in having the divas options when there are no divas..i'm glad we have the option but mey should have been in last year. end of complaints I'm kinda excited to see how the rilvary thing works and to see what new moves are available... thats the best part of the game to me seeing all the new moves that are added.. I hope we get another move DLC this time with at least 50-100 moves vs i guess you can say 20.. Quote

Yeah he'll I've been playing wwe13 all year! Lol despite the issues Quote
best in the world Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Same here. I play Universe all the time and would still be playing online if Xbox didn't charge for their online network! I think despite the issues, WWE '13 was a damn near perfect game. And while I do like older games like HCTP & No Mercy, they don't compare to things like OMG moments, catching finishers, specialty matches, Universe, and Attitude Mode. People just like these games because of nostalgia mostly. But WWE '13 is innovating like those games did only with newer additions that make these games freaking unreal and much closer to look like what we see on WWE TV each week. If the graphics alone get much better it'll be difficult to tell the difference between a WWE telecast and WWE games. If 2K wants to change anything, they'd have to overhaul the gameplay engine, but baby steps. I'm content playing the current games until they can make major changes. Quote
the King Lives Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 ^yeah man my only issue really was the weird booking and lack of 2 counts and erratic ai behavior lol other than that I loved 13 Quote
schsammydeanie Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 In reply to everyone replying to me, I AM WELL AWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO SAY BUT YOU'RE COMPLETELY MISSING MY POINT. As a fan of the games, this one does not offer enough for me to spend money on it. And as a devoted DIvas fan, it even increases my disappointment with the game. I understand 2K didn't have much time but still. Considering the price this is going to be sold for, I won't be buying. That's all I was trying to say. Quote

I'm not expecting miracles in short time frames, I just don't want to buy WWE13 again. And of course people are going to complain, forums are littered with complaints, especially when the focus is something sports related. THAT is common knowledge. Quote

Thank you for proving my point for me! Some people will complain about anything and it seems like you'd rather focus on the few minor negative that WWE2K14 has rather than all the major positive changes. You don't want to buy WWE '13 again? I have heard that a million times and it shows just how ignorant some people are about wrestling games, so let me try to explain this to you[even though you probably won't get it or if you do, you'll still bitch]: Wrestling games are generally based off of one set engine type and each year is simply adding new things with refinements. Look at the N64 games. It started with WCW vs. NWO World Tour and went all the way up to WWF No Mercy. And while each game was virtually the same game with updates and new gameplay changes, it was still the same engine and core game. Same for any other series of wrestling games ever made! Any true fan of wrestling regardless of how long they have been watching, would be happy about 30 Years of WrestleMania mode because it would be a way of connecting to the past you haven't saw while bringing up memories of things you did see. Wrestling is all about nostalgia and THAT is common knowledge. But thanks for stealing my line uncreatively and uneffectively trying to use it back on me. It seems pretty simple to me: this is a forum devoted to fans of the WWE gaming franchise and if you don't like the damn game don't buy it! Simple as that really. Quote
