WWE 2K14 Universe Mode Livestream

We’ve told you all about 30 Years of WrestleMania Mode, but there’s one thing that many members of the WWE 2K Universe keep asking about: Universe Mode. If you’re eager to hear about the fan-favorite mode, then you’re in luck, because we’ll be livestreaming Universe Mode gameplay this coming Monday at 12pm PT on the 2K Twitch.TV channel.

So glad we're finally getting the info. I told everyone we wouldn't get universe info till October. Looks like I was correct. Hopefully there won't be any major issues

They promised change last year, and that was a bunch of BS. I'm not getting my hopes up for this. I'd rather it just be the same as 13 to ensure they don't somehow screw it up even more.

actually you can blame that on THQ/the Execs that didn't want to provide resources etc to improve said mode etc.  I don't think we're gonna have a repeat like that

umm storylines making sense. Damage actually working after a cutscene occurs, Injuries, Storylines making sense.. oh right i already said that.  Branching storylines also making sense, adding Show Intro pyro back into the mode (don't know why they took that one out.. oh yeah .. people complained about it)

True but I say they got 2k resources when 2k got the license. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it lol.

If it wasn't for the thq execs we would have possibly gotten a patch for 13. They didn't want to spend the resources around the time of the bankruptcy. They also thought wwe13 would bail them out lol

I hope that 2K makes the Yukes team and the former THQ guys work hard to improve Universe mode.  I spent a lot of time playing Universe after I completed Attitude Mode and once I got my roster downloaded off of CC.  The only thing I even spent as much time on was online matches, which was still secondary to Universe Mode.  There were several continuity issues with Universe in WWE '13 and the storylines didn't make sense or last long enough with the cutscenes only lasting a few seconds.  I want to see in-depth cutscenes that actually lead to a match and continue all the way up to PPVs which only end once the feud/storyline is over.  If they can do that and allow you to customize allies/enemies to the point where matches aren't contradictory to that, Universe would be greatly improved and much smarter/more refined to play.  There is endless potential for replay value in WWE Universe mode and 2K should do the same approach with it that they use in their 2K sports/NBA 2k games.  If that happened, we'd get more roaming and custom abilities to uniquely shape each individual gamers experience in that mode so that what each user's Universe has is different depending on choices made or the ally/enemy system with stables, groups, and factions all changing what happens.  I liked the branching storyline system that was in Smackdown: Just Bring It and hope 2K will bring something similar over into Universe so that whatever happened in each match determines the direction of the shows and PPVs.

This is awesome news and i really hope for improvements 

 

i would like to see : New Storylines, and branching storylines are not available for legends like last year was for the attitude roster , adding a guy to a faction and to a tag team , when i create a stable i could add a manager to them and for a superstar too 

be able to select the default attire be able to change the divas title for any other title (hardcore cruserweight and others)

and also making tournaments and brand warfare 

thats all i wanted to see in this mode

I thing they really should put a lot more effort into the Universe mode, because it's awesome and with out it not only me but others players will never play the game boring. Universe mode just keep me with it.

yeah you re right this is the mode that keeps people playing the game at the least me of course i like the 30 years of wrestlemania mode but it will never be a mode that i would play all day but universe mode is a mode that keeps me playing every day

I hope they do everything people have mentioned above and more. Here's a few things I'd like;

Instead of going from match to match we should have the option of simulating or playing the next match without having to exit to universe menu.

I think someone said this but I've got more specific request - if a superstar has alternate attire or we change colour in threads then we should be able to select that as the primary attire for that wrestler... APA as example were a pain in the butt.

Be able to put superstars into different groups of who they face... For example I had Randy Orton start a feud with Santino Marrella when Orton was champ and Santino was bottom of the league jobber... Pointless.

Let us have more than two shows on a PPV/minor show

Let us stop certain superstars from competing for main title like we can with mid card title.

Let us have the main title as a divas title and have an all divas roster

If I think of more I'll let you know.

I'm excited for Monday though

2K has done an awesome job with the 30 Years of WrestleMania mode, so am I guessing that Universe won't have too many updates.  But they should be reading fan forums like this one to see what fans want and at least add some new things to it to make it better.  I have always said we won't see any real big changes until WWE2K15 and I'm sure there won't be earth shattering changes this year anyway.

That ain't a surprise that you don't mixed Brands cause you won't acknowlegde Bret Hart did wear NWO Shirt.

What I mean is even in wwe13 if you had separate brands there was still a chance for someone from the other roster to end up in your Monday show. If they expanded the caw slots it may not be too bad lol

I'm hoping we have a Rivalries tab on the menu just so it's easier to manage rivalries, and get rid of ones we don't like, I would also love the opening pyro back again as well. And what ever happened to having cutscenes at PPVs? I want cutscenes to happen more often as well

They said that cutscenes not in ppv was intended so they would only have title matches or whatever but I agree with you
