I won a competition in the UK to play WWE 2K14 which I went to on Friday (6th Sept). It was the Gamescom build so if the mods feel like there's nothing new here then it can be closed. There was a really cool guy from 2K there who I asked about a lot of stuff not in the build we were playing. I don't really like writing so here's a few things:

-Goldberg has his entrance from his locker room which he said is awesome

-There IS some kind of off the script section, like in attitude era mode after the last chapter there was a little gap then Off The Script, there was the last chapter (PG Era) followed by a small gap and a section which was locked

- I mainly played my friend but did get the chance to play one Wrestlemania mode match (I didn't want to spoil to much). I played Undertaker Vs. HHH and WM 28. It was very accurate but it did bug out on me which I'll explain now: The first 2 goals were to get HHH to moderate damage then chokeslam him. I did these at the same time as I chokeslammed him to get him to moderate damage - After this HHH got out the ring and stood still, every time I went for him he just reversed absolutely EVERYTHING. The secret objective wasn't coming up so I decided to restart. This time around I got him to moderate damage and then chokeslammed him and this time he got up went out the ring and got a chair, once he was able to hit me with it the cut scene rolled.

- The AI is VERY agressive - When I played HHH vs Taker it started off pretty easy but after the first cut scene (HHH killing taker with the chair) HHH became almost impossible to defeat, it was really awesome. I didn't even get to finish the match as I failed it 2 times because of how hard it got. (DISCLAIMER: I haven't played WWE 13 in a good few months so wasn't really AS good at it as I used to be).

- I really didn't know what to make of the current Mania arenas - They had obviously made the effort to make each arena different (instead of just planting the stage on the same crowd). There were extra screens and stuff in the crowd which weren't in other arenas but I couldn't for the life of me workout if WM 28 and 24 were outside or not. WM 28 has a navy blue roof but I couldn't workout if it was supposed to be a night sky or not. But again they HAD put in extra screens in the crowd unique to that arena i.e. wm 28s big monitor in the crowd. So there is a lot more authenticity in the WM arenas than previous years, they just didn't look a WHOLE lot bigger.  Sorry that bit was a bit long winded.

- The Razor's Edge looked awesome.

- I Really didn't mind Hulk's leg drop BUT it was hard to actually do it. When the guy was on his back I hand to stand in a very specific place to be able to start it.

- The new catch finisher position is awesome (from launching your opponent up). I didn't get to try a double finisher so I have no idea how to activate them.

- There was no weight detection apart from in Andre and Hulks match

- There are multiple matches at some WM's(or maybe each in the final build), i.e. WM 3 has Andre and Hulk as well as Steamboat and Savage.

- The guy from 2K (I think he was called Dan haha) said they really are trying to restore the series to its former glory. He said they're already mo capping for the next game (superstars and moves so I guess that kills any rumors about going to animation). I started talking about how not much has changed in the past few years and he agreed and said it was because THQ literally didn't have the money to be able to add anything groundbreaking (such as a new engine). He said they'd been having money problems for years and with WWE games being such a niche they didn't have the funds to spend a lot of money on it. He also said this aloud Yukes to get lazy. THQ weren't strict with them but he said 2K are pushing them a lot harder for the next game so it gave me the feeling 2k15 could be something special.

- The whole thing about 2K renewing a previous contract Hogan signed is bullshit and is proof that the dirtsheets should only ever be taken with a grain of salt. He said 2K (like all the other legends) approached Hogan DIRECTLY and he signed a contract for 2K14 - he also said he doesn't think Hogan would of signed if it wasn't for the fact they needed him for WM mode.

that's all I can think for now - got 2 free WWE blu rays which was pretty awesome (even if one was WM 29).

EDIT: The new undertaker chokeslam is awesome, no more back flipping impact. They land flat on their back and you can really feel the impact.

Thank you for that ,it look like they did a better job than the last couple years , the only thing i don't get is Hogan leg drop ,if he was so important for the game why didn't they take the time to fix that leg drop or just add the one he had in the last game he appear in.

The leg drop isn't that easy to perform.

But you still gotta gives it to 2K, i believe they have put a lot of moneys on the mo cap team this year. Which all new moves, cut scenes i have seen so far look awesome

Thanks for the info!  Sounds awesome and I already suspected WWE2K15 would be the year that 2K really changes everything up.  New engine would be nice as well as more realistic and fluid motion capturing for the moves.  Hopefully since 2K has deeper pockets and more resources, they will be able to innovate and change the future of WWE gaming for the better.  As long as they don't get Yukes/THQ kind of lazy, they'll be fine.

Good information there man. Thanks for sharing. I'm really looking forward to this game but I'm looking more forward to WWE2K15! I think 2K bring a lot to the table. Mainly money, passion and dedication to delivering a game we want.
