nikethebike Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Hi does anyone here know anything about the new reversals in the game where they automatically pull off a move? One thing I hated in the older games was the generic drop kick and back flip counter animations used by all characters to counter certain moves. Do you know if it is possible to set reversal moves, if moves from the regular moveset will be used or if they will be generic? If they are generic and are moves like belly-to-belly suplex and things like that I'm not happy. I saw Hogan do a belly-to-belly in the UW vs HH match and I've never seen him do that in a match. If it's not possible to correct moves like that I'll be disappointed. Quote
Smacktalks Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 It was said that the animations wont all be the same but I haven't heard if it's possible to customise them. Hopefully there's an option in the Moveset editor for reversals. Quote
Striker™ Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 I really hope that we can customize them. Quote
nikethebike Posted August 31, 2013 Author Posted August 31, 2013 If not, for me this is a classic potential game breaker. Knowing how THQ/Yukes have done in the past I would not be surprised if they aren't customizable. Things like this makes so much for the authenticity of the game play in my opinion. I'm sure it will be a solid game but this is the type of thing that will bug the crap out of me if they just make it generic or weight class dependent or something like that. Another game that will come so close but then a game play detail that aren't customizable will bug me when they have fixed the other things that bugged me in the past. It really needs to be a move set setting or things that are so generic that truly everyone does it, like a back elbow for a grapple from behind or a toe kick or something for a front grapple. Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed... Quote
Righteous Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 If we cant, then I'd be inclined to think that they would be relevant to your moves and/or moveset type/style. Or, they could all be the same, as they have been previously.. My personal guess is the latter. I would LOVE 2 be able 2 customize the reversals in the movesets. Quote
bigredmachine Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 Didn't they say that the reversals were character specific? Quote
nikethebike Posted September 2, 2013 Author Posted September 2, 2013 I hope they did... That should mean moveset-spots... Quote
OverTheEdge Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 This is definitely a concern of mine as well. It's great that we can customize so much of the movesets all the way down to the limb-targeting moves. So it would really suck if something as crucial to a match as countering is ended up killing the authenticity of a moveset. Didn't they say that the reversals were character specific? I don't ever recall reading or hearing this. Any source for where you're getting that from? Quote
best in the world Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Most of the reversals that I seen in the videos were the same basic reversals that were in WWE '13. However, I'd like to see 2K take the approach of assigning more reversals that are specific to whatever your WWE Superstar is. Example: Daniel Bryan would have technical move reversals, Taker would have power specific reversals, Rey Mysterio would have luchador reversals, and The Rock would have showman reversals. I forget which game THQ introduced that in, but it was in one of the SVR games in which the WWE Superstars were divided and labeled as showman, high flyer, power, technical, etc and I'd like to see that brought back and factored into how each WWE Superstar reverses moves, attacks an opponent, and even how their pacing in-ring goes. That would be an extra added element of realism and would make the matches that more lifelike. Also, depending on which person you play as it should factor into how long or short the matches can last. Guys like Khali & Ryback obviously aren't going to be pulling off any Iron Man matches and likewise, technical wrestlers or smaller guys aren't going to be randomly squashing opponents quickly. All of that adds to the overall experience! Quote
