UnderTaker1784 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I know this may seem crazy but create a new game play that will reinvent wrestling games completely, and do so in a way that will eliminate grappling, YES I SAID ELIMINATE GRAPPLING, what I really mean is, eliminate the need for a gamer to grapple in order to do a grappling move, instead press a button a certain way in a certain direction than the game does the grappling for you in a wide range of different grapple positions based on what button commands or directions you have done, kind of like a ready attack but more in a new dynamic way that will make a wrestling gamer say, what? or wow this is not what Im used to at all. id love to work with 2k on an idea I have in my head as to how to emulate a new style that would make all wrestling gamers say wow, but I think ill keep that tooo my self for now and see what 2k or yukes or visual concepts or the dynamic duo will come up with in 2k14 and 2k15 first. Alex™ Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 So you want WWE2K14 to be a Boxing/Beat 'em up game ????? Bad idea. Quote
UnderTaker1784 Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, u have no idea what im saying....... read carefully, I said eliminate the need to actually do a grappling maneuver in order to do a grapple, instead its replaced by an attack that you would perform and than the game converts and does and simulates the grapple within the animation of the move that follows. and this is talking about next gen 21k15 and beyond. Your second Idea seems like you want it to be like Mortal Kombat or Tekken; it's like you're wanting it to be more complicated and hard than it is. Not trying to be mean, but Ideas would never be used in WWE games or any Wrestling video games that I know Quote

UnderTaker1784 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 Here is a reply to this from gamingring... Reply from gaming ring, I like this guy's suggestion as well, and he understnads my definition of ready attacks, unlike some people who don't understand what this post is about and how these would work, but he understands, this was quoted from WebbanationX at gaming ring. I've thought about this in the past, but as far as eliminating grapples as an entirety is probably not a good idea for a game. What I've been picturing is more or less like, in addition to the groggy grapple list, bringing in basically kind of a ready attack, a no-grapple-necessary move listing. It works the same way the finishers work, only the reversal window isn't at the moment the executer presses the button, but the moment where the attacker would be coming in contact with the victim. Let's say for example your opponent is trying to perform the Jumping STO. Maybe have it like it was before with RB/RI as a modifier. You hold the trigger and press up and the grapple button. The guy will go straight into the animation for the Jumping STO, no tie-up required. At the very moment the guy throws his arm around your neck you hit reverse and you end up countering with an Ezekial Jackson-like Uranage. It would force the developers basically to redo some move animations so that they could be broken in that format. Any normal grapple move would of course be like normal because you're already waiting for the moment the opponent's hand touch you to reverse anyways, but for moves like that STO, the RKO, Zig Zig, etc that are performed quicker with the use of a tie-up, it could make for a slight change of pace. It's kinda like taking the quick grapples from previous games and amping them up a bit. Quote
