IN MY OPINION it's dudes that are paid a lot for running after a ball...

if the refs in football stood up and made themselves heard, like in rugby, and if they allowed some of the small petty challenges etc go, then football would have a much better name for itself. just look at some of the football from the early 80's even when they played more like men rather than fairies who act like they've lost their leg every time there's a slight breeze.

that said, for many of my years at school it was just about the only sport most people liked (or where willing to admit they liked) so its still a sport i follow with great interest.

living in Northern ireland, our football leagues suck, so its the english premiership which would be the main draw for most of us, and my Team, thanks to years of stories from my dad of his support, his love of their most famous manager (who took no nonsense) and walking to an FA cup final in his bare feet, is Liverpool! ... and before anyone says it, i'm well aware that we are not the force we once where, im well aware that if anything we are a cup team at the minute, im well aware that all those trophies we won are in the past.. BUT... i am hopeful for the future if Brendan Rodgers can keep this approach he's got going , thats going to take time money and effort though
