My Rant After Seeing the Warrior Trailer/Gameplay

That model is over four years old, and it looks awful - they've had plenty of time to design a new one. What a crock. But no surprise. This whole series is pile of poo. But I'll still buy it. When there's no competition, what's the incentive for them to actually innovate and improve? Obviously none. When you're the only option on the block and have a monopoly, you can do whatever you want. Here, the expense of creating a new model outweighs the benefit - very few people will decide to buy or not buy the game for this reason alone. So as long as a cost-cutting strategy does not result in significant lost sales, they'll do it. And the result is the same game year after year - just like Madden, just like Call of Duty. I'd rather see a release every other year with just DLC roster updates during the off years. But that's basically what they do now anyways, except they repackage these roster updates every year for $60.00.

And even though WWE 13's Attitude Era mode was pretty cool from a nostalgic standpoint, it was pretty sloppy - the audio was awful, animations were clunky, cutscenes were awkward. And the models were just gawd awful - especially their faces. There was no resemblance at all. The whole thing was a money grab and we fell for it. And we'll fall for it again as long as we keep buying this junk.

i am tired of listening to the "graphics" man did you really played old games?

i remember playing svr 2006 and enjoyed that game so much not because of the graphics but because of the roster, the era, and the modes and gameplay so i don t think the graphics of 2k14 are bad i really think they re reaching the limit so expect more from ps4 and xbox one not ps3 and xbox 360

the next gen games may have something that you want but they still will not add everything at the same time so don t high your expectations.

Last year at this time i read comments like this " This game will be the best ever " , " ATTITUDE ERA FINALLY THANKS THANKS "

and now everyone complains :) every single game has it mistakes and errors but i still love playing them

id like to think 2k sports will put much more effort into freshening the game up from next year on anyways, throw in the fact that as vince says, better graphics with next gen AND the fact that next gen is easier to program for apparently, i see a hugely positive future for the series

Seeing UW's model, I could only laugh.. I didnt even have the Wow, Really thought. I just laughed. It's a shame, but it's to be expected. I have really no expectations going into 14, so the chance at disappointment is very slim. I look forward to WWE2K15 for changes. 14 will just be a reheating and repackaging.

but besides what i said i really think that this game could be great and im not a fan from the golden era i still prefer ruthless agression but its nice for me

it would be awesome if they had razor ramon vs shawn michaels wm 10 and owen vs bret *.*

two of the best matches i ever seen

Since they're recycling models, at least we get an indication of what the roster might look like. (See http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/legendswrestlemania/roster). I remember having those guys in 2010 and 2011, thanks to brienj, but at least then I got new attires made by the community. Wonder how much of that game's video footage will also be recycled? My only hope is that the resources saved were allocated to game mechanics and logic!

Truly I'm just happy that Warrior is in the game. Most people get upset about Having the same mod year after year when they cannot even picture a new mod themselves. Not saying that it's you and Not saying that i'm a fan of the graphics even though I believe they can do better. What I'm saying is that VinceRusso is right They can complain about graphics one minute, and play their a!##$ off with the game another.

I really got over the fact the way the graphic looks, I realized that they may not make the graphics look any more better. So I'm over graphics now

Any Warrior apart from the shitty WM6 with chest paint and I wouldve been happy but this is just lazy.

I agree Rooster. I expected the WM6 attire, but not the same damn model. Hopefully we will still be able to mod them this year, and Warrior will the the CM Punk of modding for 2k14.

ya we can re texture his face if possible and attires also

Sorry Dude, but posts like this annoy me. They're using old models so they have time actually improving the gameplay, bugs and stuff, because remember: They barely had time this year. The Warrior model might be old, but it looks solid. I'm actually interested in the gameplay and characters that are in the game, not about how old the models are...

Are you guys upset with the attire? or the Model form itself?

^^ Personally Im upset with the attire, the WM6 attire is balls.

Also Im willing to put money on the fact you cant change the bodypaint in superstar threads and even if you can, it will still be crap because that match was the only time he ever had paint on his chest as far as I know.

We have to remember one thing; this is all probably taken from earlier builds of the game and may not reflect how the final game models will look and play in-game. But it is a good indication of where the game is headed and honestly, I'm not gonna complain about graphics. They are good enough to look realistic as long as the gameplay is better which it sounds like it is. Anyone who expected as sort of overhauls in this year's game were either delusional or in denial because Yukes is still developing and 2K will not get full control until next year's game. I would rather have passable graphics and awesome gameplay that mirrors real life action than the opposite with great graphics but awful gameplay. We should be happy that we are getting any changes in the game at all, considering that Yukes is still developing. Until we get the final product, we can't really base our opinion of the game on one lone trailer or early trailers that might be older betas of the game.

This is insane. Have you ever heard the phrase "putting your best foot forward"? This trailer was the public's first taste of the game. First impressions are everything - do you really think they're going to go out of their way to show us something inferior than the final product?? If anything it's the other way around - trailers are supposed to look better than the real thing. You give them too much credit, and I'm out of cliches.

I'm ok with the model, because that is what I expected. And if nothing else, it gets more legends into the game with the proper model structure for brienj to possibly combine models from WWE 12, 13, and 14 (assuming he returns to modding the WWE games this year).

We can mod that easily. I´m not worried for graphics, there is better thinks to fix than graphics. I´ll be happy with the SVR2007 Hogan model.

You complain about the Warrior model. The Taker model has been the same since SvR 07, same face etc. The same goes for a few others.

That model was pretty much perfect. Plus Taker has had new models, such as Attitude Taker last year and Taker from LoWM.

Wrestling game fans will never be satisfied and I have accepted that. I have been on gaming forums ever since the original Smackdown game on Play Station and one thing is always constant; wrestling fans complain. And while I do offer constructive critiquing of the games and what I'd like to see improved, I'm not merely bitching for the sake of doing it. I will agree that first impressions are everything but I wasn't disappointed nor was I overly impressed. The bottom line is that Yukes were the said developers this year and 2K did not have the time to change everything and to complain about everything is ignorant and illogical. Next year will be the year in which everyone can complain if things aren't changed. But this year was bound to be more of the same only with a few additions, which was kinda cool. Still, it seems like some fans are content to complain just because it is the norm and in thing to do. I prefer quality gameplay and fixed glitch issues over obsessing about graphics that are quite honestly good enough as long as the core gameplay is there, which it sounds like is the case with all the new additions. To judge a game based on early builds is quite rash and not a great idea because we don't know how the final product will play and look, so be patient.

Hell, I'm happy with Fire Pro graphics considering that title's strong gameplay engine. Let's hope the engine has been tweaked and improved this year - that's what will really determine fun and longevity.

It's awful.
