datkido Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I wanted to start a thread so that every1 could see in one place if pac archiver starts working again. If it comes back alive people should post it here, so every one can see. Personally i'm kind of bored of modding superstars now. I downloaded an amazing mod for Fifa13 that added over 1500 player faces, new kits, new adboards, basically shit loads of new content! It made the entire game feel brand new again which increases it's playability. That mod gave me an idea, I started working on a mod that involves retexturing all the default CAW textures (the normals too so i can create 100% new faces and body shapes, not just slap a texture over the existing bump maps because when you do that you can still see the old facial features/body shape through the texture). What i want to do is change the default CAW bases to make it easy to create certain superstars. So it will be like you load up CAW mode and bam, there's ric flair or whoever i decide to add, and all you would have to do is attires and body morph. I also want to change the default bullshit logos in CAW mode to real attire logos, again making it easier to create certain superstars. The end product should look more like a DLC superstar than a CAW. So that's the plan, and i've already got started but without the pac archiver what I've done so far is useless because i can't get it back in game. So yeah, if it comes back alive for any1 post here! so we can all know Quote
Mathayus Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I had the same idea about the caws templates, but I´ve got 50 caws and now isn´t a good idea for my caws to change it. But for certainly caws could to be great. More with the last 2 templates what i think I never use. About the final product, never is going to look like a real in-game superstar, the morphing is too limited, you can´t give it form to the muscles, always is the same. Never a morphing so detailed like a In-game superstar. Quote

Also you can change the form of the muscles, CAWs have bump maps too, edit these and you change the muscle shape & definition, just like i do with my body retexture mods. I've done it with titus o'neil but i'm nowhere near complete, the pac archiver died before i got a chance. Edited July 14, 2013 by datkido Quote
bravebird31 Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Excellent idea, I know I would be interested in helping in something like that. Can we replace the hair yobj in edit mode with character hair yobj? I wanna try Quote
Koolgus Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 Honestly this thread isn't really needed I'm pretty sure Brienj will make a post or tell Miztah it's working again. Quote
datkido Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 Did he make a thread or tell any1 it would stop working??? I knew because I asked a question in 1 of my threads n he said, so what makes u think he will bother making a thread if he decides to re activate it, especially when he didn't even update the official support thread. Reality is its probably dead 4ever Quote
Judders Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 He did say somewhere that it would stop working for everyone when the server goes off. He never said that it would come back on, but if you assume it's not, then it will be a nice surprise if it does. Quote
Koolgus Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 I highly doubt it will be gone forever don't see a reason why he would spend hours and days working on a program that everyone only used for a short period of time I guess only time will tell. Quote
Mathayus Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 brienj said that the server was going doing when he goes on holydays and he was going to look for another server that works better or so. So I think the tool will be working again. Quote

OverTheEdge Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 So question would the caw mods be useable on retail since they are caw files? I feel like a retard asking but, there is always hope. Nope. I'm not even sure I see where you're coming from. They're still modded files, so there's no way they could work on a retail console. Quote
El Guapo Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Nope. I'm not even sure I see where you're coming from. They're still modded files, so there's no way they could work on a retail console. If the modified files were the exact same size as the originals, they could in theory be injected over the originals on the iso, you'd just need a flashed DVD drive..which I guess wouldn't make it a retail console anymore... Of course if you shared your CAWs with anyone who didn't have the mods they would look completely different... Quote

Of course if you shared your CAWs with anyone who didn't have the mods they would look completely different... Yeah, you would definitely need ur console modded for it to work. But ur right with pac archiver you recreate the file at the exact same size so as long as you have a way to inject files on ur console it should work. Quote
tekken57 Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 The caws don't actually store the textures and model info in the caw file itself, but references what parts to use instead. So your modded caws would look completely different on a retail console. Even if the filesizes were the same, the files would need to be burned onto a disc which would not work on a retail console. I gave up modding caws a long time ago. No matter what you do, they never look as good as the in game models. Quote
datkido Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 Ok, i give up waiting for the pac archiver. I'm not motivated to mod anymore, all i was motivated to do was try my caw project as it was something new (i get bored of doing the same shit over and over again), and since it's impossible without pac archiver i really can't be bothered to mod anymore. I'm not saying I'm done modding this game, but you probably won't see many more mods out of me without this software. I've got all the superstars I want and all the attires I want for this year. There's only so much texture modding you can do before it gets boring. It's a shame because i really think revamped CAW textures would've injected some life back into this game for some people, but oh well... fk it Quote

Connor MacLeod Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Just because something isn't going on 24 hours a day, does not mean it's dead. This happens every year at this time. There are still people who mod the older games as well. Quote

Miztah Raza Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 I'm currently modding SvR 2010. I just feel it's a very solid game and has a lot of moves. Plus, NikeTheBike's hacking on it, too. So far, you can ADD wrestlers, and stuff like that, the scene is worth checking out. It's at the bottom of the homepage of the forums, in the SvR 2010 section. Quote

nikethebike Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I will try to wrap up my PAC file handler tool and release it. Not sure it will work on newer WWE games. It can convert data pac files of SVR2010 between PS2/360/PS3 at least. This means my editor can be used to mod PS2 files that can be converted to 360 format. Quote

So will this work on wwe13 ps3 or xbox360 or not have you tried them and will this be like the pac archiver and is it on a stupid server? Quote
