datkido Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 So i've found out what the problem is why wwe12 models have weird lighting effects if they come out first without a manager. It's all in the mipmaps. WWE13 wrinkle files (located in the pach files with the normal.dds) use 9 mipmaps, WWE12 only use 8. I know for a fact that this is problem because on my first mod (HHH), i saved him with too many mipmaps and got that EXACT same effect in his entrance and during the game, but in the superstar threads menu he was normal. now i've tried the obvious fix of adding 9 mipmaps to wwe12 wrinkle files (took some fiddling to get it to work because the photoshop dds plugin just won't save 9mipmaps on wwe12 wrinkle files because they are a smaller resolution. you have to either hex edit it, or use gimp to manually create the 9th mipmap) So once you've successfully added a 9th mipmap there's another problem, neither x-packer or brienj's pac archiver will let you import the new 'fixed' file back into the game because they both now tell you the file is too large (even though if you hex edit the 9th mipmap into the file the size increase is so small windows doesn't even register it). If there is a way to get these files back into the game with 9mipmaps instead of 8, i'm 98% sure it would work with no 'glitches' Quote
OverTheEdge Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 This is definitely an interesting theory and I'm not sure if anyone's taken this approach yet. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the next step would be here to try it out. At the same time, myself and others have tried importing '12 models in a different way--by replacing the .yobjs in the '13 .pach with the ones from the '12 .pach. Other than the .yobjs, the color and normal.dds files are the only other ones you'd transfer between them, meaning the wrinkle file would still be the same as the original one in the '13 .pach. Still, while this method does fix the emotion bug, the lighting bug is still very much present. So even with the exact wrinkle file from the '13 .pach, it's still happening. Quote

Make sure you insert all the textures in the same order as the orginal archive. Inject the entire texture archive over the old one. Hopefully this works and fixes the issue with wwe 12 models. Quote
Mathayus Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) I've created sometimes new textyre archives with xpacker, but never tried that. With lod i inject the 3D MODELand works without issues comming the first to the ring, but with brock lesnar i used the 12wrinkles file and thst dont fix the issues. Give it a try. One thing thst you csn try is inject only the 3d model and see if the issues are in. Edited June 10, 2013 by Mathayus Quote
datkido Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 I can't inject the 3d models because when i go to inject the hair it says the file is too big. So i'm trying to build a new pach archive using xpacker. I can build the archive fine but it renames almost all my files in it to '0000' which causes the game to crash just before the superstar comes out Quote
Mathayus Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 To inject a hair, what is 2701.bpe, you extract in from a pach file. Thrn, in a openned pach file, inject it with xpacker. No size problems and rename problems. For to do a try to the models, only inject the 0000.bpe. Another tips. The color.dds and the normal.dds needs to be resaved to be exactly like the wwe13. Quote

You should not be creating a new pach archive for model objects. You should only need to create a texture archive. Quote
brienj Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 They have glitches because of the info in the yobj files. You can texture mod until you are blue in the face, won't do jack shit. Quote

I can't be bothered with trying to fix this anymore unless a yobj editor surfaces i'm just leaving them as it is. off topic, but i just tried to pm u about this but ur inbox is full so i'll just paste the pm here... so i downloaded your pac archiver and gotta say great tool! the preview function really saves a lot of time. My problem is though the 2nd day i opened it, it stopped working the login form just dissapears and prog doesn't open after i enter my details. Now i use VPNs for my job and saw someone say they fixed this prob by changing ip, so i connected my VPN and opened the prog and it started working again. It worked for about 2 days and now it doesn't work at all again. Thought you might be able to tell me what's going wrong and if there's a fix. Edited June 11, 2013 by datkido Quote

I don't know how long I'll be on vacation either, but it's summer, well, except for Red Rooster and some others, people should be out having a good time instead of fucking with these games anyway. In fact, if my old ISP does a total transformation as it talked about, the program will quit working until I find a new server and update the program again. Quote

So probably for the best that it's stopped working. Quote
