Breaking Bad at the moment.

You beat me to it! :D Breaking Bad is consistently great and leaves you wanting more. I cannot wait to see how the show ends this year with the final 8 episodes. If the future flash was any indication, the ending is gonna be epic!

Other top mentions should be Supernatural[awesome & funny], The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, and The Walking Dead. As for older shows, I liked Lost pretty well, though the ending was too vague and undefined to me.

Breaking Bad is quite possibly the best show ever on television. I have never seen a show where a guy starts off as one personality type and does a complete 180. The dialogue is excellent and funny and the actors are all unbelievable in their portrayals. This is one show that should have had 10 seasons or more but will end at 5 to maintain quality. You have to respect that.

I also tried watching Arrow when it first debuted but didn't care for it. I have since gotten rid of cable in favor of Netflix and Hulu. I might try watching Arrow again to see if the show picks up. I honestly thought the Green Arrow on Smallville was better than the actual Arrow show.

Walking dead and Supernatural

Two of my favorites as well. Walking Dead turned out a lot better than I initially expected it to, especially since I'd never read the comics and didn't really know the whole idea behind it. I love the show's pacing, action, and setup all the way. It is realistically smart and believable to watch. Supernatural is funny as hell at times and the jokes on there are great, especially ones you miss the first time thru and see again when you rewatch. I can't tell you how many times I went back and watched the older episodes and heard a joke Dean, Sam, or Bobby made that I didn't remember. I just hope neither show is cancelled anytime soon, because both shows are the best on their respective networks.

Arrow is badass, Walking Dead is badass.. Dexter I think is my favorite. If Spartacus was still on the air itd be that,

i greatly dislike the walking dead. its format is woeful. make nothing happen for most of the episode then in the last 5 mins BAM! action and cliffhanger... next episode: deal with cliffhanger issue quickly, have nothing happen for aaaaaages, then end of episode BAM! cliffhanger.

season 1 felt like a bad Bmovie that was too long

season 2 was a great story stretched too thin

season 3 was much better but then fizzled into nothing at the end.

i kind of hate myself for watching it all now.

I have seen this common complaint in regards to The Walking Dead although I don't agree. Are the episodes kind of predictable at times? Yeah. Are the episodes slow sometimes? Yes. You get that in every good tv show at some point or another though. I don't believe The Walking Dead is any worse than any other popular show on television and I like the storytelling aspect in it. A show dealing with the zombie concept is obviously not going to be all that deep and predictable. You know that going in before you watch it and if you were expecting anything else, you don't understand the concept behind the show. Which is what 99% of the people complaining about the show are guilty of.

IMO the first half of season 2 was very bad. They really didn't do anything that much

It was kinda slow, but again they can't all be quick paced action and zombie killing marathons. You have to understand the characters and everything leading up to those big events in the show. The storytelling pace is methodical, which is something I've noticed a lot of people do not like about TWD. Smart storytelling cannot be quick and sloppy, which is the reason I believe they approach the show the way it is done. Trust me, AMC has "The Killing" and "Mad Men" and both of those shows are ten times worse than anything I've seen from Walking Dead.

but EVERYTHING, character development, plot lines etc where all too slow moving, constantly! the show is full of potential but they piss about way too much. im not expecting a constant stream of mass zombie killings, i just want the story to move on at a reasonable pace.

I used to watch series like criminal minds , dexter , new york idontrememberwhatfollows

as for "funny" things i'd say My name is Earl , Malcom , My wife and kids , Scrubs

I agree that the show does move somewhat slower than it should, no doubt. But once you get past all of that and actually take notice of the story, you realize how unique this show is and understand the story. I think the show producers intentionally make the pacing slower so that when it does speed up, you understand the motivation behind pretty much everything. I would like to see a quicker pace but honestly I don't expect that to happen because the show gets big ratings. They will have the whole "if it ain't broken, don't fix it" mentality. The major problem is that people don't have enough attention span to digest everything being done because it is so slow. Still, I do enjoy most of it and it is what it is.

i'll give you that to some extent, but i feel the likes of LOST was much faster paced and yet there was still plenty of time given for character development. I honestly believe they need help with their story tho, it falls down in places... which it shouldnt be when they had the comics to fall back on for ideas.

I will point out that the show has enough interest points that i did watch all 3 series' ... but i still wasn't a fan.the fact that alot of my friends watch it may also be a factor in that tho.

one of the main dudes behind the last 2 series' has now fell out with the network and isn't involved in the next series, so I'm hoping that will lead to a change for the better

Yeah, Walking Dead is a lot slower paced than Lost, Breaking Bad, Justified, or even Burn Notice. All of those shows I love and their pacing is more quick and all out, whereas TWD is more methodical and deliberate. The show has had many people exit with the main ones being Glen Mazzara and Frank Durabont. Both of those guys had the Stephen King type of boring and slow approach so maybe season 4 will pick up the pace and be more exciting. All television shows will have their off episodes and negative points. Walking Dead has an interesting premise and unique story to tell, which is why most people either really love it or really hate it.
