El Guapo
Hi all, Having modded a few of the old SvsR Xbox360 titles with a great deal of help from XHP, I thought I'd have my first go at doing some work to WWE13, but I've run into some difficulty trying to replace a default ch file with one of the modified ones I've found here. Using information I've picked up from this forum and a few Google searches, I've done the following: I've downloaded Bugsyboy's Excellent Syxx (ch314), and I want to replace Heath Slater (ch339) - let's face it, who wants to be Heath Slater..?Using HxD, I've loaded up [syxx]ch314, search for EMD, then changed 00031402 to 00033902 and saved it.Next I rename [syxx]ch314 to ch339 - having already backed up the original ch339 - and copy it to the directory of my WWE13 JTag ripUsing Xpacker, I open up my new ch339, then update both arc files to reflect my changes When I run WWE 13, I can initially select 'Heath Slater', but after I've selected number of finishers, manager, etc, I get a fatal crash interception. Can anyone help me with where I'm going wrong please? I'm assuming that I've missed out something vital. Thanks Edited June 2, 2013 by Evil Jeff
OverTheEdge
For what you're doing, when using the Xpacker, the easiest way I'd think to do it is: 1. Extract the .pach (the 00031402) from the Syxx .pac (lulz) 2. Load up the Slater .pac in Xpacker 3. Inject the .pach from the Syxx over Slater's .pach 4. Update the .arcs 5. Copy the updated Slater .pac (with the Syxx .pach inside of it) into the ch folder to overwrite the old one And you should be good.
kidsampson
Or save Slater's slot and add the Syxx pach as an alternate attire for X-Pac, and save yourself a slot and some trouble. That's what I did. OTE's advice above applies to this as well - same process.
OverTheEdge
True. You could always just add it as another attire. Of course, then you'd have to edit the misc.pac and possibly the DLC if you have that as well.
El Guapo
I was thinking in terms of 'Syxx' having different entrance, name, etc to 'X-Pac' OverTheEdge - no need to hex edit anything via your method?
OverTheEdge
Nah. Using the Xpacker will take care of it all.
El Guapo
I'll have a go tomorrow morning and report back ...imagine the 'Three faces of Waltman' promo I can do once I get 1-2-3 Kid in there as well!
El Guapo
Hi all, right, I tried OverTheEdge's method, still getting the fatal crash. Just to see if I could import ANYTHING, I used an Ahmed Johnson (apologies, I forget which talented individual made this one) which was already setup to Sheamus' ch279. I just replaced the ch279 with the Ahmed Johnson one and used Xpacker to update the arc files Fatal Crash. Out of desperation, I disabled the Title Update and tried again... It worked! Progress! (of sorts) So, I now revisited OverTheEdge's method, but this time ran my modified ch through HxD, and the EMD name was still set to the PACH I had imported rather the one I had replaced, so I corrected this... Fatal crash. Anyone able to tell me while other people's modified ch work but not my own? Thanks for the continued support! El Guapo
--- Update --- Okay, I tried it again using OTE's methof, no hex editing, and this time it worked. I'm assuming that I was just being a d**k and getting mixed up by using about three different 'working' directories at once. Amazing what you can acheive just by being organised! Thanks to Kid Sampson & OverTheEdge .oh, and nsieniski for the excellent Ahmed Johnson
