delete Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Hey guys, I really need some help. I finally bought a hard drive so I thought I'd try burning some CDs to get entrance themes, so I burned a CD-R disc on my laptop (I burned 25 mp3 songs, 70 minutes) and I inserted it into my Xbox. But it just showed up as 'Mixed Media Disc'. Can anyone give me a solution? Otherwise buying the hard drive would've just been a waste. Quote

Are you sure that the disc you burned was a CD because if it said 'Mixed Media Disc' it's most likely a DVD that you inserted/burned. Believe me, i tried DVD a couple times already and they always respond with 'Mixed Media Disc'. Also i'm using media share now, but i suggest you to burn it with iTunes! Zigzag5™ Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Well if you want to burn a CD you will need: 1 CD 1 Match lol I know how that feel, I had the same problem Quote
Smacktalks Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Make sure your burning it as an Audio CD. You can use something like Windows Media Player to burn it as it's straight forward to do. Tutorial http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows-vista/burn-a-cd-or-dvd-in-windows-media-player Quote
delete Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 I used Windows Media Player to burn it, I'm 100% sure it's a CD. On the disc it says, 'Verbatim' 'CD-R' 'Compact Disc Recordable' '700MB Mo' '52x speed vitesse' '80min'. Here is the disc I used: What kind of discs have you guys used and it worked? Quote
Alex™ Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) 1 thing for sure: it never works for iTunes. Really ? It's worked perfect for me though Edited May 31, 2013 by DancyHercules3 Quote

delete Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Try to burn it again I did, I formatted the disc so that everything on the disc was deleted and then I re-burned it. It still showed up as mixed media discs, what discs have you used before? And what program do you use to burn your discs? I'm gonna try to burn it with Nero. Quote

delete Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 I'm gonna try it with Nero, I've ran out of CDs so I'll buy some more soon and I'll let you guys know whether it worked or not. Quote
delete Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 I haven't tried it yet but I think I know what went wrong, with windows media player I burned 53 songs (over 80 minutes) which is over the 80 minute limit. So because it was over 80 minutes I think the Xbox recognised it as a DVD and a CD which makes it mixed media. Quote
HotavioH Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 LOL, the only thing that I ever do is: 1) Pick a CD-RW 2) Select the Theme 3) Play them on Windows Media Player 4) Select Windows Media Player own "Burn" tool 5) Done Quote
Righteous Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 (edited) I always burn mine with iTunes.. Never had any problems when I used my WMP to burn tho.. Might be the length.. And yea, CD-RW is ALWAYS the best way to go.. Edited June 1, 2013 by Madd Righteous Quote
