nsieniski Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 (edited) tbh i thought his reason for creating a login requirement was to stop unauthorised people sharing his program and taking credit for it at places like 360iso (i read that somewhere). I was also reading a thread a few months back and he swore he never ip banned any1 and I believe him because it does seem a little pointless, some one was accusing him of doing it (can't remember who). Also creating a program with a login interface with the sole purpose of ip banning certain people is more hard work than it's worth, if you wanted only certain people to use it you would just password protect the download and only give the password to those select few people. That's what i would do anyway i wouldn't publicly release a program and then try to ip ban everyone i disliked... too much hard work. Plus think about it, how would he know whose ip he was banning? unless the person signed up with the exact same username they use on the forums he wouldn't know for sure which ip was which, either that or if he was a forum moderator. From reading comments on the official support thread the program didn't work for a lot of people, I doubt brienj knew them at all so i'm sure he didn't ban them. Totally agree. Brienj can be a total jerk sometimes, when you get to his nerve (I experienced that a couple of time my self , he even acknowleged it... lol But the guy is everything but a coward. If he has something to tell you, he's gonna throw it straight at your face. We disagreed in the past but I owe the guy a lot for what he has done for us with his tools. He is a great programer and probably the only one that cares about wrestling. Thanks to him, I have been able to enjoy WWE13 and the past games. He gave us the Pac archiver and the Yobj model importer. Two wonderfull tools that really made modding (or amateur tweaking) a fun ride. The only one thing missing that would make the experience the greatest of all time, before the Xbox 360 dies, would be a model exporter that allow us to modify, tweak and re-import any model from any game...... the final frontiere........... imagine............. Thank Bj Edited September 4, 2013 by nsieniski Quote

The main reason of the login form is because of people trying to pass off others' work as their own. Using other’s work without giving credit is stealing and lying. The people who have done the work deserve the credit for it. Many people have failed to give proper credit where credit is due, and that is why dev's are using the 360haven login form. Quote

Yeah, given the nature of that kind of stuff possibly happening, the login form makes perfect sense. Obviously, it'd be nice to have a program that could run without it, but if the person who's creating the program decides that they want it on there, then that's completely up to them. It's their program. Everyone else is left with two options: Either use the login form and abide by 360Haven's rules and be an active member (which really isn't a hard thing to do at all), or simply doesn't use the program. The creator not only doesn't owe anyone anything to begin with, but is offering a free program that the entire community benefits from. If you can't even make a few worthwhile posts on a forum in return, then--as unfortunate as it is--it's no surprise why someone like brienj got fed up with it all, stopped doing the work that he's done, and now we've lost one of, if not, the most valuable guys in this community when it comes to this kind of stuff. Prime8 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 When I load the program, I get the login section but when I click login, it crashes...well to be exact...disappears. Nothing happens, the program just closes. Quote
nikethebike Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 The server is still down right? Or did it come back up again? Quote
