Maybe tomorrow i willl make a 2nd part of the tutorial that will show how edit the dummy.pac. If you could put an like on the video i would appreciate Edited March 25, 2013 by IamCrazyPT Quote
VinceRusso Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 great tutorial buddy i always do the same thing you did on the video in my ps3 but no results xD Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 It does work for PS3 users Vince.....I have just done a test with Miztahs HBKs (thanks Miztah) and worked 1st time. You are doing something very wrong..... Have you edited the DEF files? open them up in notepad and remove the CH from the pac number your modding. You will also need to remove the CH from the modified pac itself. So in my case CH145 was then changed to just 145. Quote
VinceRusso Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) yes i make that too xD its good to hear that works for ps3 but taker did you extract the misc.pac from the game folder or from the gamedata folder cuz is that what i dont know i use the one that is in the game folder although thanks for testing taker edit: 1º i change the misc.pac (the one that is in the game) just like here in the video 2º i update the arcs (choosing the option to add an additional attire and it says that was updated) 3º i go to h files open and delete the ch 4 the same with def files 5º upload them to my ps3 Edited March 25, 2013 by VinceRusso Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 you need to go to game data and use misc_dlc03.pac if you have dlc 3 installed, or misc_dlc02.pac if you have dlc 2 installed...see the pattern? Quote
VinceRusso Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) oh ok i know what my error is thanks man i will give a try. So is the on from the gamedata and the one that is in the game folder i don t need to change ins´t it Edited March 25, 2013 by VinceRusso Quote
VinceRusso Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 taker thank you soo much man! Its working it was the dlc 3 misc from the gamedata also this topic should be pinned Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 doesn't need to be pinned, people just need to read more. 1 Quote
OverTheEdge Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 doesn't need to be pinned, people just need to read more. Now that should be pinned--like... everywhere. Quote
delifadzli Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 thank you for the tutorial...really appreciate it...now waiting for the 2nd tutorial using the dummy.pac.... Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Why need a 2nd tutorial theirs is a sticky that explains everything very clearly.. Quote
benkilldlc Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 thank you for the tutorial . waiting for the 2 part Quote
Judders Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Why need a 2nd tutorial theirs is a sticky that explains everything very clearly.. Because that doesn't have a video 'Taker! They'd have to read! Quote
Miztah Raza Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 I can't believe people can easily follow video tutorials. I mean, I personally, have rarely been able to follow a video tutorial. I'm much happier reading a tutorial, or finding some info on my own. I remember there was an arena retexture video tutorial on youtube and I couldn't understand what the guy was saying(not because he wasn't clear enough, I just can't follow video tutorials, lol) so I found a text tutorial on the WLF(Thanks, UndertakerWLF) and it worked on the first try. If you need a video tutorial to do something like this, you should just stop trying to mod the game. Quote

Quote: "Inject any PACHs that you want(We edited the misc.pac so that chris jericho has 2 attires, so we can add chris' 00010402 and 00010404 PACHs into the dummy.pac, rename the the PACHs accordingly, and this will count as1character(because 00010404 is actually an entrance attire which does not matter in the misc.pac) and another PACH files of his(texture modded or whatever) into another slot and rename the slot to 00010412 and if you want to add an entrance attire to that, inject another PACH into the slot underneath it and rename the slot to 00010414, etc.)" In your text tutorial you never metion X-packer , we rookies couldn't understand this session quoted above... Some rookie ask a question "could someone explain this bit to me please",and then some guy like Mathayus answered "What you don´t understand? That´s crearly explained." So we rookies may be now scared to ask.. ^_^ Quote
IamCrazyPT Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 The second part of the tutorial is een easier then the 1st.Gonna do it today Quote
UndertakerWLF Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 The problem is this.....people don't help themselves. When I was teaching myself modding and came across the same tutorial I would think 'right now how do I inject them?', so I go get what's listed...Dummy.pac which is available at Tekkens site... Now upon browsing the site I notice that Tekken also authored Xpacker....I look a little deeper at the site and come across his tutorial on how to add attires... again information that has been around for a good 2-3years now. It really is'nt that hard to find this information out either, the problem with alot of new modders is they expect to be spoon fed every drop of information to them... a good modder will go out and find the info themselves and solve the problem, hell that's half the fun! finding out what works and what doesnt, if you break it how can you fix it, will this work with that etc.... I don´t know what you want, if the entire tutorial or you are lost in one point. If the problem is the language, it´s another point. Oh! I´m a rookie too with the Hex edition. VinceRusso Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 me too i ve been learning a lot in this 2 weeks about mods Quote
zhigge Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 what yall more experienced modders fail to realize is everyone doesn't learn the same. yeah some want to be spoon feed but if they do its only because the information is not as simple as you may think it is. Quantum physics is easy as hell to me, but guess what not everyone will think so.. creating music or Programming in visual basic/ C++ / or powerbuilder is easy to me.. but someone will say oh its easier for them to code in java. would you say that person that likes to program in java a moron because he cant program in C++? I hope not.. but i think most of you guys would. Its not spoon feeding its breaking it down further. You guys are giving very high level descriptions of how to do things. if you break it down to the simplest form then it wouldn't be as many questions. You gotta think the old holly hack forums had well over a million views and about a good 20-30 people helping discover stuff... why? why not a million people helping? because this stuff is only easy to a select group of people. just saying.. I don't have a problem with someone programming in Java, in your example. My only problem is if they did not learn a low-level programming language BEFORE they learned Java. That's the problem with "programmers" of today. They are only taught a high-level/managed programming language, and don't know the basics of low-level programming. So yeah, I have no problem with a Java programmer, but if that is all they ever learned, or even wanted to learn, then they are a failure as a programmer in my eyes ... Same thing for "modders". If you aren't willing to learn the basics, and "low-level" aspects of the art, then give it up, you aren't a fucking modder, and should just leave it to people that do learn the basics first. Quote

zhigge Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 and i respect that brien. you hit it right on the head. the problem is the basics are not being explained. again everything is being explained like these people have been doing this for years and they have not. Most of these folks have never heard of xpacker or hex editing, yet the answers are being given as if they have. People are just learning. I'm not defending anyone by any means, its just the attitudes in here. for christ sakes its just a game..help or don't help but don't keep bitching about it. I'd rather you be rude and not say a damn thing then constantly say why do they keep asking this question or why don't they google.. Quote
