Damn, that's absolutely amazing!! How'd you come up with the hair hack though? Doesn't DDP have short hair in-game? Mind sending me some info via PM? I'd love to know.

So that kind of stuff does work? I've been thinking about trying that--with replacing a .yobj file with one pac to another. Although the location of the hair on the texture would have to match up, yeah? At least that's how I imagined it'd be done. If not, and you don't mind, I'm with Miztah in that I'd love to know how you did that.

Yea, that's what I was think as well, that the yobj would have to have the same texture placement, but the chances of that are pretty slim, I'd like to know what he did.

Oh, it is. And even from what I've been screwing around with in 3DS Max, even if you find one that would match up, it doesn't mean the actual .yobj will sit properly on the other model's head--a majority of the ones I've tried end up just floating above them.

Very clever Tekken. Is the hair piece one of the CAW hair styles? Reason I ask is because it's very "flat" if you get what I mean. No body to it.

@bugsy boy, yes please pm the textures, it'll really save me some time. I have very limited time to spend modding, so the texures will really speed up me releasing the mod. If you've worked on the normals also, that would be great.

@Judders, not its not. I tried adding the CAW mode models a few years ago and it never worked for me.

@Miztah Raza and OvertheEdge, remember that I coded X-Packer not just for texture injection but for any file. I've been doing yobj swaps for years now on the ps2 and on the SVR 07. It was easier with those games as each model had it's own texture instead of one big texture. Red and I were working on hair replacements on svr 2011, he was able to remap the texture to the model as we could edit the models.

Since we can't edit the models, you are right in saying that the hair texture must align between textures. However it will also work if the hair texture to be injected uses a part of the original texture which is not used. I am also using a trick with the alpha to make the hair display wihout messing up the texture when it does overlap with something. Normally I would have written a tutorial but my time is extremely limited these days.

Genius. I can't believe I never thought of that. But still, did you just happen to have found a model that fit DDPs head like that? Never heard of an alpha trick, if you could explain it to me briefly, then I could probably write a tutorial for everyone else(provided I understand the info you give me, lol).

EDIT: Your alpha trick is that you make the the overlapping place transparent in the alpha, right?

I had to go through quite a few models before I could find one which matched the placement of the hair on the texture. Also keep in mind that different sectionf of the hair have different textures, and I only needed the back section of that hair. So I only applied the texture for the portion I needed and I also set the alpha to transparent for the parts I didnt need and the overlapping sections.

Awesome, I'm glad someone else also figured it out based on the info I provided. There's a lot of hair hacks I would like to do - Nash, Big Show, etc but don't have the time to do them all.

Thanks for the clarification, tekken. So it's pretty much what I was thinking before. Awesome to know that that stuff actually works. I've tried some things out in 3DS Max, but never bothered trying to import it back into the game as I thought for sure it'd just crash. Looks like I've got some experimenting to do.

Sting, even though not lined up, with the hair hack is amazing. So glad to see your theory was enough for some of the other guys to give it a go too.

Look forward to seeing where it goes from here!
