But why? Why is it that only the wrestling boards have the mentally challenged people? I mean, how the hell am I supposed to deal with all of this??

I have to agree with you! audayalyafi doesn't realize how sh!t he talks these days!

Exactly. I don't know why, but I just hate audayalyafi, he's just one of those people, who for no reason at all, I can't stand. IDK why, but everyone knows the feeling. Maybe it's his inability to type a sentence in English that'd make him seem somewhat intelligent.

Everyone stop arguing. I'm not sure if Brienj has officially retired but if he has then this topic should be to remember his amazing tools and how much he's helped us.

I don't know, it needed to be fixed to be release worthy, but from the past couple of days, the work I started doing, has actually inspired me to program again, so you never know, one day when working on this other program, I might say to myself, "hey self, why don't you just fix that other program and release it for all those good people?" All I need is a really good and happy day ...

Hey brienj are you still doing the PAC archiver ?

So we don't have to update the arc files anymore?.

I think that Brienj should do what he thinks that is better for him, unfortunaly that is going to effect us.

Thanks for all you did for us, hope than one day you comeback.

Wich the best to you :)

I really hope this isn't directed at the CAW makers....as I can explain at least for me, but probably for most.

In the end, as said earlier, we as CAW Makers utilize the forums to gain feedback so we, as you like to do as well, can put out the best product we can for the Community. With the change to CC, practically all CAW makers now utilize CC to release CAWs instead of typng formulas, however, many of us did use to take needless hours of our days year after year doing so painfully just for the Community. Now with that said, we do realize that some people are on JTag for various reasons, but ever since your XHP site went down, there really hasn't been a dedicated CAW area nor cas release area where you are mainly at. It's not that many of us don't care to release that way, it's more a few more obvious reasons:

Gone by the way of the dodo is the time that CAW makers bounce between 7 or more boards posting the same things on each and every....that became quite tiresome in the SvR2006 era (especially for someone like me how nowadays has a wife, young kids, full time job, and limited time)....CAW makers need a main board they can go to that they can:

a) have a large enough "post contributing" community that can give feedback on helping better the product....I can attest that XHP when I'd post my previews and cas files, 360haven, even this site has never had quite as much as caws.ws (example...on XHP, I'd have 1 maybe 2 pages of comments at best...caws.ws, I had over 25 helpful pages that bettered the product with each update based on the feedback)....so if we are looking for feedback, it's obvious where we would go...to the larger community that contributes feedback. To get the CAW makers on board with going elsewhere, there needs to be focus on what we need beyond the helpful programs we are very thankful for, and one main place to go, not 2, not 3, not 7.....heck, I'll be honest, I quit mainly coming here a bunch when this site had major issues with having about every CAW stealer in the world on it.

b ) feel the place is about everyone's protection (not just in the protection of the guys making the programs)....just as you want your rights protected about the programs you make, we'd like our contributions and skills also protected (i.e. CAW stealing, use of your program to promote stealing....which with your new sign in system could help curb that if monitored, etc). That is partly why some makers are skeptical about releasing .cas files...it gives the easy way for people to grab the file, inject, and then re-upload (i.e.stealing)....while we use it honestly and for the right reasons (to pass CAWs between each other in collabing, etc), some do not....so there is some apprehensive side from CAW makers end in some aspects, but then we have to also understand the good reason to do it....to contribute to you guys.

c) Get on the site or programs without it saying "site down due to server maintenance"..lol...sorry, just poking there for some humor I noticed today...obviously understood...hehe.

now, sorry I'm ranting, but in the end, I hope you can understand it is not in any CAW makers intention to "be loyal" to any site...but let's be real....has there really been any major push to personally contact people to push the shift to another site? Can't say I've seen a single one. Has the site been able to give everyone an equal community in the aspects that are important to them (including the size of the community that gives feeback, which is very, very important to serious CAW makers that intend to release for community use)? In the 8+ sites I've ever been on, inclusing XHP, Xentax, Smacktalks, GameFAQ's, and even the Facebook Petchy and D did up, plus the site that everyone tried getting up a few years back...the only 2 I've seen that produced that aspect was old school GameFAQ's and the CAWs.ws...the rest just didn't compare in the amounts of feedback and usually didn't last in one place for no more than a year if lucky....so that may be something to focus on. Does the place let makers know of their expectations on the board when it is something never done before (instead of making assumption comments publicly about their not releasing cas files as if they aren't "contributing", as it was said specifically...which btw is quite insulting to a person that has "contributed" over 500+ top rated CAWs in over 7 years...just an FYI there)?

All in all though, I really hope you reconsider and I personally want you to know I deeply appreciate your work and what you have done for us and the community. Thanks and hope if it has anything to do with any CAW makers, I may have shed some light for discussion. :)

Wolfie just touched on something there that needs to be stressed.. and that's appreciation. When it comes to wrestling, whether it's games, themes, general media or whatever, I like to think I've got my fingers in many pies. I'm a mod on a site that specializes in collecting and finding entrance themes from the last 20 or so years. By trade (if you can call it a trade) in the real world, I make music. And I've spent a good few years remaking classic entrance themes, of which only a crackling VHS recording exists. Like CAWing, it takes time and it takes a lot of effort. However, unlike CAWing and creating hacks for WWE games etc..you receive nowhere near as much appreciative feedback. What I'm getting at, is that having spent a lot of my spare time browsing Wrestling related forums and reading about what people have done for the online wrestling community (whether it be through CAWs, music, whatever) absolutely nobody is respected and appreciated more than you, Brien for what you have contributed to this particular community.

Like I've said previously, there will be a lot of people who respect your decision to leave, be it for whatever reason (although by now, i think it's clear.) They respect that decision because they respect you, but deep down I don't think anybody wants you actually to hang it up. You bring an awful lot to a table that probably wouldn't be as booming as it is right now if it wasn't for you.

When it comes to CAWs ws, admittedly, this is where everybody will go for the feedback. But that's where it ends. I've only been posting CAWs publicly since SVR '11, so I'm still only a rookie. But I have to say, on my quest to establish myself as a serious CAW maker, CAWs ws got me noticed, simply through feedback. So in that respect, I completely agree with what Wolfie is saying here. But then since the first time I modified a CAW using your tools, any success and the vast amounts of positivity that come with that success have always been attributed to you.

I understand the bitterness with CAWs ws and although there are certain people there that will continue to use your tools, your relationship with those people is never going to get any better. But you know that. And whilst yeah, there are an awful lot of us CAW makers who don't agree with the lack of acknowledgment they offer you, it's safe to say that their site will continue to be the place people go to post their work. All we're saying is please don't let this dishearten you. Serious CAW makers will do what they have to do to get there work out there. But there will always be a select few of us who will remain testimonial to what helped us along the way.

What Brien has achieved and accomplished within the wrestling games community is nothing short of amazing, although I can mod games I will never be able to get my head around programming, that in itself takes alot of time and dedication. I first noticed Briens work when his SVR2010 editor was released and it really inspired me to start modding myself and the rest is history. I will say this though at first I was totally against texture editing thinking it was a quick and simple way to throw a CAW together, I was wrong on that statement. CAW texturing is the next evolution in CAW making to be honest it is something that THQ shuld have cottened on with but hav'nt the brains to do so...

Anyway thanks Brien for your dedication, work and for making the WWE games more enjoyable.

One thing i dont get here is why does any of that matter? There are a host of people i think are complete assholes and i avoid like the plague. Other people do talk to them, doesn't change my opinion of any of them...why should it?

I get that it could/does feel chore like at times, i feel that way about caw'ing a LOT of the time...and i have 'quit' more times than i can remember, i now know the secret is actually just taking some time out when needed.

You have done more for the community than any one other person Brien, without you i know i for one wouldnt have been doing anything last year or this year.

In short i wanna say thank you for the effort you have put into your tools and for helping produce many MANY great creations that would otherwise have simply not been possible.

Without your tools i know the part of caw'ing i enjoy is gone, and tbh there is nothing else for me to contribute...so again thank you for enabling me to have enjoyed something i otherwise wouldnt have.

Whatever you decide to do just make sure you're happy and enjoying it...life is short and we only get one.

After Reading everything here, I really cant say anything many others havent said already.. Wolf, Aj sim etc.

The way I see it.. as much as we appreciate the websites that help us share content.. in the end they are venues,.. nothing more, nothing less really.. only avenues to do what we love to do.. regardless of the avenues the community operates how it naturally will.. Thq has been doing things in the games to piss us off for ever.. but that doesnt stop us from playing, and doing what we love.. its kinda the same with the forums.. its like wolf said, I post on caws.ws because of the solid feedback turnout the site provides, and it helps get the stuff seen by the most people.. It was the place I personaly went to 8,9 years ago when I first started playing. But that doesnt mean I personally favor any site over another.. nor have I ever been contacted about switching sites, or even knew this was such an issue to the point that this would happen. Brien the community loves you for your contributions.. I think thats obvious .. the only ones your hurting by retiring is the community.. the games, the boards.. could care less.. they arnt here now, we are.. so I ask why punish us? Now ultimatly I support any mans right to do what he must, and what makes him happy.. and will support, and wish you well at whattever you wish to do.. but If your looking to see support in person or appreciation.. you have both from me sir.. thank you for everything.

nooo not koc 2.. I love this game and play it almost everyday.

someone attempted this years ago and the reason they couldn't translate it is because they said all the menus were like pictures and not text. I can't remember the guys name but he was the only person to have a site up with KOC red/green translation for movelist as well as one for koc2 and i think all-star.. I may be wrong but i really don't believe it was possible.
