DRAVEN Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 Even though there have been claims that Take Two has acquired the license for the next WWE video game, that’s not entirely accurate. There will be a bankruptcy court hearing on February 19. THQ has the court’s permission to sever their contractual ties with WWE and Yukes. If the court agrees, WWE and Yukes will work with Take Two on WWE ’14 and other games. If the court doesn’t agree, then this won’t happen. That’s why WWE hasn’t released an official announcement yet. Take-Two Interactive Software has officially acquired the WWE video game license following THQ’s bankruptcy. The acquisition, which had been rumored for some time, has now been made official as revealed in court documents filed on Tuesday. The deal will see WWE and Yuke’s, the game developer that THQ brought in to help produce the games, terminate their contracts with THQ and enter into new agreements with Take-Two. Take-Two will also hire THQ’s employees that work on the WWE games; the deal also wipes out damage claims that would have otherwise come about from the contracts being terminate. WWE has agreed to waive its pre-bankruptcy claims of about $45 million, as well as claims for annual royalty advances of about $7.5 million for the licensing contract that would have run through 2017. One can only hope. I kind of thought about this situation, but I know my luck, I doubt this will happen, although if Take Two can see their incompetence, it might happen. Quote

I believe that there will be mostly new stuff in WWE '14, Universe Mode is going down considering there is nothing to achieve in Universe Mode when you play it. It goes on for years without any goal to reach. So a new season mode will most likely be included in WWE '14. Quote
