Titavius Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 (edited) First of all, you'll need FL Studio, which is great for achieving high-end reverb.. excellent if you want that 'arena' feel. To start, we need to open up the Step Sequencer. At the top of your screen, almost dead center, you'll find six icons with two of them being instrumental through-out the project. Highlighted below is the Step Sequencer icon. Clicking this will bring up the Step Sequencer pictured below. To find the reverb presets, simply press Ctrl + F to bring up the search feature, at which point you'll need to enter 'Fruity Reverb 2'... For those unfamiliar with the software, the reverb feature will have six presets to help get you started. For our arena effect, we're going with 'Large Hall' to help get us on our way. First, you'll need to drag your mp3 (doesn't necessarily have to be an mp3) into the step sequencer over the 'kick' pattern. For this, I'm using Chris Jericho's theme taken from the xbox rip. Once you've loaded your file, click on the 'Large Hall' present and drag it over your mp3 in the Step Sequencer to initiate the preset effect. When that loads up, you'll see the following setting. And pictured below will be our modified setting with all the dails set manually. This is done simply with your mouse by holding your left click and turning. The following image is our modified setting with one of the main features highlighted in order to help explain the overall effect a little better. This is our panning switch. Moving this to the left will create more of a stereo sound where as the right side will make it sound a little more mono. In the game, the arena effect ISN'T surround sound and so in our effect, we're going to make it a little more 3D. In order to extend the audio track we need to click on the Piano Roll icon highlighted below. Once the Piano Roll is brought up, you'll need to extend the track by clicking on THE FIRST square next to 'C5' on the keyboard and dragging the green line to atleast 69 to get a good minute and a half of play. Also, make sure your step settings on the far right of the screen look like this... Once your track is extended, you can save to wav (for lossless quality) or mp3 (if you have the lame.enc installed) by going to File / Export and choosing your desired format and save destination. Below is a preview of Chris Jericho's theme taken from 'create an entrance' with the in-game effect pre applied. https://www.box.com/s/r30ym0tnm2jeaa23wwcp And here is our better sounding effect with the same audio file taken from the game rip. https://www.box.com/s/8e3qtexf0n5hfh2lhpw0 For those without access to FL Studio, I'll be posting one or two themes to be updated in WWE '13 as well as a few Attitude era alternate themes. If anybody has any requests, feel free to post them. I'm currently working on reproducing the effect with Audacity, but working with the G-Verb is alot different and the sounds will never be exactly the same. For those with the software, here's the saved preset available for download Download And if you need a copy of the LAME mp3 encoder, a Download link for this is provided below http://www.free-codecs.com/download_sof ... 99&s=22&r= ** Just a quick note on how to equalize your finished tracks so that they meet the games volume limitations. This is best done with MP3Gain, it's totally free and a fantastic little piece of software from sourceforge. I reccomend that you save all your reverbed tracks in a seperate folder. So after you've gone to export in FL, create a new folder somewhere you'll remember. (mine's on my desktop) Open up MP3Gain. Highlight all your finished reverbed tracks in your new folder and drag them into the software. (at this point they need to be mp3's, so if they aren't.. convert them!) Set the target volume to 95.6 dB.. THIS is how loud the game's themes are. And with all your finished tracks loaded into the software, click Modify Gain --> Apply Track Gain and this will equalize the volume of your tracks automatically without having to choose a save destination. Enjoy! Edited March 4, 2019 by Titavius Quote
kidsampson Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 I previewed both tracks, and the second one you created does indeed sound about 10x better! Also looks like a useful tutorial. Thanks! 1 Quote

Titavius Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 No worries, guys. To give you an example of how good this software is, here's a remake of The Rock's theme from 1999 that I worked on with my man Beast2007 (check out his work http://www.youtube.com/user/AttitudeBeast2007) Basically, he samples instruments and then pieces them together bit by bit. The Guitar in this sample was recorded with FL Studio (just hooked up to a Fender Telecaster) in time with Beast's beat. I love using FL Studio to record guitar purely because of its simplicity! This version of 'Know Your Role' was a prototype of the more commonly known version used later that same year. We don't have a WWE release and the only thing we have to go on are various recordings. Beast has yet to release this, so consider this a taster! https://www.box.com/files/0/f/435175217/1/f_6164988997 Quote
EssencEofScYthE Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Great tut, You could also use Audacity. Quote
delete Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 Titan83 I'm was going to make a topic of WWE theme songs with arena effects but I didn't know how to do add the actual arena effects. Now you've given us a tutorial I'm going to go ahead and do it. Thanks a lot man Someone pin this topic! Quote
djlithium Posted February 14, 2013 Posted February 14, 2013 i do all that a lot easier with cool edit pro, then i use mp3gain to get the themes to the right volume so that they dont over-power the announcer. Quote
PlayboyPictures Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Or you can convert youtube videos into mp3 and stick them on your console theres a guy called the enmson loads of wrestleres themes which have a accurate arena affect takes no time at all good tut though Quote
Titavius Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 this is purely for people who have the software, or would like to try it out and want to do the arena effect themselves. what you end up with is a lossless quality wav track which can be burned to a CD and what you have will sound somewhat better than the in-game themes. the tracks that were originally loaded onto the game disk are a low bitrate, because this saves disk space. even the PS3 blu-ray copy has the same low bitrate, because it was just ported over from the 360 'hard copy' Quote

I'm doing theme songs for wrestlers now if you want to check that out http://smacktalks.org/forums/index.php/topic/40412-nazza-wwe-theme-songs-with-arena-effects/page__p__355888#entry355888 Quote
