Revel Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I suggest for the creators of these tools, mods, caws etc creating a personal website and putting their work up there so you have a place where the community knows for a fact that you are the creator, even if it's later stolen without credit. Personally, i wouldn't care. If i create something and put it out there (a story, caw, etc) i really have no problem with someone else taking it and adding more to it, or modifying it to create an alternative or making it overall better, even if i don't get personal credit. In the other hand, i personally would give credit to the creator and make it very clear that i modified something that was not mine. It's only fair. Overall i wouldn't care if someone were to do it to me as long as it benefits the community. The purpose of these things, i believe, is not much for personal credit but to enhance the gameplay for entire community. Quote

I know some people don't really care, but when you spend HOURS, or DAYS, and in my case a lot of times, WEEK or MONTHS on something, and then some douchebag comes along and pawns it off as his, and it has been going on for YEARS, over 25 years to be exact, it can start to get on your nerves, as is the case for me. I've had credit stolen since the days of BBS. Makes no difference though, as I've discovered a way to lock the pac files, that should theoretically work, I just need to test, and people will be able to lock their pac files if they want. Quote
