Moving to hard drive deletes changes?

I used the CAW editor to inject a Christopher Daniels CAW and give him a titantron. This all worked fine running the save off my USB drive, but when I moved it to the 360's hard drive Daniels and his titantron completely vanished. Is there a way to do this, or do I have to run edited saves off the USB drive?
