andymadness Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Hey guys, I've been following XHP creations on Facebook, he will soon be releasing his WWE 13 caw editor. It does everything last years program did, except one major thing and that only applies to retailers. Sadly custom selection pics will not be an option for retailers as THQ has made great effort to remove all possibilities without JTAG or other modifications. So having said this, I was hoping to put up a request list for certain CAWs (with the authors permission) to re-uploaded by JTAG/Modded users who can give them selection pics. I know to some selection pics are a small thing, but to me they were one of the number one reasons I waited for the new CAW editor. So is there any JTAG/Modded users on here that have an XBOX 360 with debug capabilities, interested in giving us retailers selection pics? The method is very simple and will be explained once he actually releases the program. Quote

Well from what you have said custom selection pics or custom renders are possible for retail 360 users if jtag users upload them to community creations is that correct sir? and this thread is about getting a list of the best CAWs am i right, for uploaders to reupload and allow the jtag guys to reupload, correct? Next question is has anyone a good kaitlyn CAW made yet before we apply the custom selection screen render? Surely this process would work with hair and face textures also? Quote
DRAVEN Posted December 9, 2012 Posted December 9, 2012 Friday 7th Dec BrienJ Good news, and bad news. First the good news. The CAW Editor is coming along nicely. I can import another CAW into my save, and even remove download marks, etc. Now the bad news. Apparently, if the CAW is not a downloaded (which is what we want) CAW, then the save file must be 60MB. I found out that the extra info in there, is a checksum on the selection pictures. I can not make the CAWs an y smaller in size than what they are, in fact, you will always have to go into the CAW Editor in the game and save EACH attire individually for that attire to work. Not saving an attire in the game makes that attire lock up the game right after you select it on the match-up screen. So, since you have to re-save the CAW each time anyway, the CAS files will be reduced in size to 1.4MB, to make it easier to handle and move to your Xbox, and then when they get saved in the game, they will go back to being 60MB. Now the bad news. Since you have to save the CAW in the game, that of course gets rid of any selection picture you import, so that function will be disabled for WWE13 saves, so as to not cause confusion. Now for the good news again. I can not guarantee it, but I will look into importing selection pictures in the same manner that my one program imports paint tools. It would require a debug Xbox 360 and the XDK installed on your PC, but would let you change the selection pictures. That is, if I can do it like I did with the paint tool logos, but come on, do you think I won't figure it out? Silly THQ, you just slow me down, you don't stop me ... Saturday 8th Dec BrienJ Fuck THQ! I hacked the Selection Pictures, and they do NOT get corrupted. However, there is always bad news with the good news. In order to hack the Selection Pictures, you MUST have the XDK installed, as well as Visual Studio 2008, in order to do the real-time debugging. You must understand how to set break points, and then use my program which will load your image and then import it, when th e game hits the correct breakpoint. I know it's kind of hackneyed on how to do it, but a lot of the functions are shared for different parts of saving the CAW, so you kind of have to stop the game running at the exact right time, then inject the info into the correct locations. I'm thinking about not releasing this until I have it perfected, but I'll go ahead and release the CAW Editor soon. Sunday 9th Dec BrienJ Just an update on the CAW Editor and being able to add Selection Pictures. In the CAW Editor, you will only be able to add Selection Pictures to WWE12 CAWs, but pretty much all other functions should work for WWE13, or at least when I add them, like the CAF importer isn't finished for WWE13 yet, but will be added later. For changing the Selection Pictures in WWE13, it will be a stand alone program, which will require you have the XDK installed on your PC, along with an Xbox with debug capabilities. You'll start up the program and load the new Selection Picture into the program. Then you will get to the screen in the CAW editor in the game, where it asks you to Submit Application. Then you'll push a button on the program and it will tell you it's ready for you to push the Submit Application program in the game. You'll push the button in the game, and your Xbox will freeze for a little bit, and then continue. Then you select Yes in the game to overwrite your CAW, and you will then have the new Selection Picture. It will be an "idiot proof" program, although I expect a bunch of questions as always, especially, "Does this work on retail?" It will be fun times as always, because people just won't read the fucking instructions. So as it stands, That jtags dont go online.. So custom CAWs with selection screen renders wont be downloadable.. For now... Quote

Aw thats a shame so basically their is no custom selection renders coming then for retails oh well, hey guys thanks for trying appreciated by us all ! Damn THQ Quote
delifadzli Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Thank you for explanation regarding the tools...Damn THQ, no custom selection screen for retails... So in that case, only JTAG user can get that oppurtunities to make selection screen?.... What is JTAG with debug capabilites ...isn't any different with JTAG ... i'm planning to get JTAG.. so i wonder what is debug capabilities...really sorry for the dumb question since i'm quite new to XBOX 360 world... Plus really sorry for my english really appreciate for your respond.... Quote
DRAVEN Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 You can get a plugin for a jtag/rgh to allow some dev kit abilitys, The other option is you get a jtag/rgh and install rgloader or tx fusion that turns a retail in to a very close dev kit clone.. In my opinion having rgloader I wouldn't go back to a standard jtag/rgh Quote
Auday Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 I know we can't go online i also have jtag but didn't they found anyway so we can go online Quote
brienj Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 The CAW Editor will be able to import any CAW to your save file, so retail users can import the ones from JTAG users. The only caveat, is that you can NOT edit ANYTHING on the CAW, or you will lose the selection pictures. You can't even edit it in the game in the CAW editor. So you just need someone with debug to make the CAW for you, then you do NOT change ANYTHING on that CAW, except to resign it for your Xbox. Then you can import it with my editor and it will still have the selection pictures as long as you never go into the editor in the game and save it. BTW, my program is not optimized to resign the large CAW files. When I programmed it, I never optimized it for very large save files, because it wasn't needed, so you will be better off using another resigner on the 60MB CAW files. However, if you edit the CAW in my program, it will automatically make it the smaller size CAW, and you will have to resave it in the game, so it will be able to be resigned with my program quickly. I can go on and on, but really there is no reason to, since it's not even released yet. Basically, you need to know someone with a debug Xbox in order to have Selection Pics. They can still be shared like the paint tools. Quote
sir-up Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I think I'll go ahead and JTAG another xbox so i'll have a retail and a JTAG this seems more ideal Quote
bugsyboy Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Man you guys are crazy good ,cant wait to get my jtag and help in anyway i can Quote
brienj Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Ive noticed they are huge this year, do you know why? Because of the military strength encryption on, wait for it ... the Selection Pictures. Yes, not trying to protect the integrity of XBL, by putting such a big checksum on the moveset, but simply to keep people from changing the Selection Picture. It's unfuckingbelievable. Quote

I dont think thats too bad at all, I guess you just needa make sure the CAW is good enough in first place. So whens the big release day of you're tool then? Can't wait too see some these !! Quote

Oh wait, he probably can't, he just leeches and uses the work of others without any credit. As long as the PS3 has the same style checksum on those huge 60MB CAW files, the only way it will be hacked on the PS3, is if someone is smart enough to reverse engineer the PS3 executable file, and is able to make a program that debugs the executable while it runs and modify the memory correctly, like my program does. The only people with PS3 knowledge that I know that are smart enough to do this, don't give a crap about WWE13, or any other WWE game. So, I don't think the PS3 will be getting it, unless it doesn't have the huge checksum like the Xbox 360 does. If there is no checksum, somebody that works with the PS3 will just look at the CAW files modified with my program, and then make a program to insert the selection pictures from that, and I'm sure as always, the people in the PS3 scene, the ones that are dicks, will give me zero credit. Rewmac Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Well if all other parts of the editor work fine, it's alright to me more than alright. I liked selection pics last year, but it's not a must be for me this year for some reason Quote
