best in the world Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 After years of doing CAWs old school via formulas/video formulas, I'm finally about to switch to PSN. I've never done online gaming before, so I have a few questions about PSN and the community creations for WWE 13; 1}How does the CAWs download system work? For example, are creation downloads free or is there a fee for downloading CAWs? 2}What content comes with CAWs downloaded? For instant, if I downloaded an AJ Styles CAW for WWE 13 would someone else's added content such as in-game entrance music, videos, and movesets come with it? Or is it purely just appearance only? 3}Is the download part of PSN as glitchy as some of the in-game parts? Because I would hate to get halfway through a download and have the screen freeze up. 4}Do other aspects of the CAW downloaded from community copy verbatim[i.e. a 360 CAW with more layers translating over into a PS3 version, or would the layers be reset for the fewer layers on PS3]? I'm pretty stoked about getting the update and not having to do long, tedious CAWs with too complicated paint tools. Which begs another question; do paint tools that a download has from a specific creator also come with the download for the appearance? Quote
Spyder78 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) 1}How does the CAWs download system work? For example, are creation downloads free or is there a fee for downloading CAWs? A) You simply search for the caw and click download simple as that, not sure if there was a separate fee for Online Access this year, I bought the Fan Axxess package for $20 to get everything in on bundled price 2}What content comes with CAWs downloaded? For instant, if I downloaded an AJ Styles CAW for WWE 13 would someone else's added content such as in-game entrance music, videos, and movesets come with it? Or is it purely just appearance only? A) Everything comes with the caw, moves & intros.. If a custom song or video is used it will not come with tose it will reset to the default settings wichs is wwe logo & no music 3}Is the download part of PSN as glitchy as some of the in-game parts? Because I would hate to get halfway through a download and have the screen freeze up. A) This year it's working great for downloads & uploads, just can't see the mini-previews on caws, you have to select a caw then preview it that way, not a big deal 4}Do other aspects of the CAW downloaded from community copy verbatim[i.e. a 360 CAW with more layers translating over into a PS3 version, or would the layers be reset for the fewer layers on PS3]? A) No need to worry about layers, there are 64 layers this year, so transferring a 360 form to PS3 would fit perfectly Edited December 7, 2012 by Spyder78 Quote
best in the world Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 Thanks. That answers alot of nagging questions. I'm sure any fee you'd pay for the ability to download creations would be worth it compared to taking hours & hours of tweaking to make a perfect creation. I'm excited to see how it all works since I've been playing these WWE games since the days of Super Nintendo and all throughout the entire Smackdown series. I'm a major wrestling game fan and I love how in-depth THQ has gone to customize things. Although I could definetely live without the glitches Quote
Spyder78 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Trust me, the implementation of this option is a god send in many ways, I am glad tis year they gave us the option to re-upload downloaded caws, this helps so much if you are collabing with a cawing partner to send it back and forth to each other. Of course there is the option to lock caws from being re-upped/aka stolen too to avoid the dreaded low ifes claiming stuff ain't theirs. You will be satisfied once you get on the CC yourself and browse there the thousands of pages of creations already up there right now. Quote
best in the world Posted December 7, 2012 Author Posted December 7, 2012 Thousands of pages? Damn!!! I didn't know CC had THAT many creations. Man have I been missin' out! Guess it was inevitable that I'd relent to technology sooner or later Good to know that there are plenty of creations because I'm tryin to create alot of older brands[WCW, NWA, ECW, etc] and even newer brands like Impact Wrestling. With that many creations up and 50 CAW slots, the possibilities are endless! Nice. Quote
Spyder78 Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Yeah it ranges from Superstars to Movesets to Paint Tools to Arenas to Stories even Screenshots from using the Highlight Reel in game can be uploaded to the CC. You will be able to find a lot if not most of those guys & gals up there, seen a few WCW ones and ECW guys too.. Definitely a good amount of iMPACT caws too Quote
