Miztah Raza Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Hey! So there has been a bunch of questions regarding hacks. So as of now, just be sure to read this to avoid asking stupid questions and adding crap posts to people thread's OK, so here we go: 1. Any texture mods CAN NOT be done on a normal, retail XBOX-360, sorry, but this will never happen. 2. Hacked PT textures? No no if you've got a retail console. A guy with a JTAG can import the logos into the PT and then share that with you, but don't expect too many people to be willing to do that for ya. 3. Guys with JTAGs DO NOT have live, so don't be like, "So eh, can you inject them textures into your xbox and 'em to live?" We don't have live and can't help you out with that. 4. There's no 'software' that you need toget mods working your 360, if you've got a JTAG it's pretty easy to use the mods, just use the tut, in the thread that's been pinned above, theres a guide in there. Definitions: JTAG: Microsoft ships all of their XBOX-360 consoles, with sort of a 'lock' on them. And what some people do is they basically 'unlock' the console by soldering a modchip inside the console(or by having a friend do it for them, or by buying a pre-modded console). When the console is 'unlocked' it is known as a JTAG. JTAGs can do many things that normal XBOX-360 consoles cannot. But the biggest con is that JTAG users cannot go on live(unless they've got a dual nand system, or a triple nand BEAST!!). RGH: Same as a JTAG, just a different way of 'executing' the mod. Devkit: XBOX-360 console used by developers for debugging purposes, etc. Any other questions, post here, and I'll try to be as nice as possible(if I seem a little mean, it's because I've answered the same questions multiple times on multiple boards, so forgive me if I seem a little offensive). Then again, I took time out of my day to TRY to make sure some of you guys understand the basic gist of what's going on, so even if I am a little bit mean, what does it matter to you as long as you get your question answered, right! Cheers Quote

Cheers It's a very good guide thanks for posting. It clears up lot questions. I am kinda torn cos I really need my xbox live but I would love to download the textures, to do that I would need a modded xbox 360 as you have pointed out and other ppl too me these last few days. I think its a tough call, right now I would say I probably will not get it modded if I had to make a choice, but if the mods improved to a point where I'd be foolish not to get it modded then I would say I would get it modded. Many will say, why not buy a 2nd console, I cant quite afford a second xbox360 right at this moment sadly By improved it does not imply your work is bad, far from it, it implies what kind of mods I would love to see in the game, like eg. a mod that adds DLC too the game without replacing in game characters etc Edited November 14, 2012 by Chris2000 Quote
