Smacktalks Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Torres to Chelski? What'd you think Dave? Looks like he's going but it doesnt look like Newcastle are gonna accept your bid for Carroll. Quote
Aero Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 £35m for carroll is fucking crazy... as for torres going, whilst i hope he doesnt, its 99.9% certain he will go... only thing that i dont get is, torres was training with us today, and chelsea had amedicat team and money guys waiting by a helipad that went home a while ago... false hope im sure but crossed are my fingers! Smacktalks Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 lol 35m for Carroll was a joke, sure he's a good prospect and he's good in the air, left footed, scores goals with his head, etc. but for someone that's only played a few Premiership games it's well over the top. To emphasis that point, the top 10 transfer fees: 1. £80m - Cristiano Ronaldo 2. £57m - Zlatan Ibrahimović 3. £56m - Kaká 4. £50m - Fernando Torres 5. £55m - Zinedine Zidane 6. £46m - Luís Figo 7. £45m - Hernán Crespo 8. £35m - Andy Carroll 9. £34m - David Villa 10. £40m - Gianluigi Buffon I can see people abroad looking at that list and thinking Andy who? Aero Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 lmao aye, tho i'll argue what larwo said on MOTD midweek... £50m for torres when he wanted to leave Vs the £25 he could have went for, Vs the £10m carrol is mayb worth = £15 million profit either way... dunno, might pay off but im not convinced yet, meanwhile Suarez has got no coverage thanks to the torres "scandal" followed by the carroll story, and he was the best buy of the 3... just a shame torres hadn't wanted to stay Quote
Smacktalks Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 I think your better off now than you were before, Suarez and Carroll should link up a lot better than Torres and Suarez would have. As for Torres I think it'll be hard for him to fit in at Chelsea, he's pretty similar to the likes of Drogba and Anelka and I dont see them stepping aside for him. Quote
Aero Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 lol aye could have been a poor choice and chelsea didnt really need him, tho theres talk of them shipping off drogba now... seems foolish.. kinda hopin chelsea fall back into their shit form and we some how nick 4th spot lol. also hoping city or arsenal up their game and win the league lol Quote
Aero Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 liverpools aim for the season must now be to finish above chelsea, be it in the top 4 or simply 5th place. did the double, keeping clean sheets, winning matches. can;t see us going unbeaten to the end of the season but hopefully we wont drop many points. it'll be a challenge but i feel we can just about do it if we keep firing on all cylinders. raul meireles is a goal machine, what the fuck was roy doing with him lol Quote
Smacktalks Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 lol It does seem to be Kenny's tactics that improved his game, especially as he didnt score at all under Hodgeson. I think they said your only 6 points away from the 4th Champions League spot so your definitley back in it now. Torres just looked to be the same disinterested player he has been all season, you should be laughing at getting 50m for him. As for Drogba going I think it'll depend on how he gets on with Torres, as Torres could have played in Drogba a few times today but choose to shoot instead. I thought Anelka would be the one to go at the end of the season but I think he might be a better fit to play with Torres up front. ...Can't believe we lost our unbeaten run to Wolves on Saturday! :'( Quote
Aero Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 lmao i know, wolves have beaten the shit roy hedgehog liverpool, last years champions chelsea and this years probable champions, previously unbeaten this season... and they are still bottom lol. weird how you only equalled your record of... was it 29 games unbeaten? as for torres, apparently as they came out for the 2nd half, he nearly stood out with the wrong team we swaped a crock for a crock and £15... win lol... kennys installed a bit of hope, and i'd love liverpool to get CL football and torres being stuck in the europa league next season. Quote
Smacktalks Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 lol I never thought of it like that, i'll be lmao if Torres gets Europa League football again next season lol. I had a feeling when we got beat it'd be by one of the lesser teams, we've played badly all season and some how lasted this long. The other weird thing was it happening around the time of the Munich anniversary, as we always seem to play badly around it. We also seem to get City around this time which is our next game... Quote
