Smacktalks Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 THQ are set to try a new way of buying DLC for WWE: Smackdown vs. Raw: 2011 when it launches 29th October. The initiative entitled 'Fan Axxess' will essentially entail willing customers paying for DLC 'up front' with a one off fee, which then allows them to download future SELECT DLC packs for 'free' with no additional costs. Note the use of the word 'select' here. THQ are making quite clear that paying for this scheme will not automatically grant you free access to the complete future catalogue of DLC. To join Fan Axxess will cost 800MSP and can be bought via Xbox LIVE. This then means that the first batch of DLC to be released will then be downloadable for free to these members whereas gamers purchasing the DLC in the traditional sense will pay 560MSP. The first DLC pack has already been detailed as containing additional wrestlers British Bulldog, Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Lex Luger, and Layla. On top of this there will be extra costumes for Shawn Michaels and Shad, plus playable arena WWE NXT. The second pack of DLC which would be free to Fan Axxess members will include clothes for John Cena, Undertaker and CM Punk, and a new WCW playable arena. For non Axxess members, this chunk of DLC will cost 240MSP. As an additional bonus for joining the program, members will receive free access to the WWE Superstar Attribute Customizer (worth 80MSP) and access to all in game unlockables (also worth 80 MSP). With the war for our MSP raging on, and publishers trying all manner of new systems to get us to part with our cash, how do you feel about this latest approach by THQ? Source: IGN Quote
ALL STAR Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I thought if you buy the game new you get free downloadable content so do you get fan axxess when you buy the game?? The WCW arena sounds cool i doubt it will be anything like starcade or halloween havoc though i would like to see them, i think its a good guess to say it will be the nitro arena though i hope it isnt a like a HD version like the Raw arena with WCW logos all over it. The WCW arena should be good for doing some cross brand storylines. Quote
Smacktalks Posted October 13, 2010 Author Posted October 13, 2010 That's a good point, not sure how it works about buying it new. I think the Nitro arena will be the one they include, the only other one I think it could be is one of the Great American bash sets. Quote
