World Cup Winner: England (Partly patriotic and partly because Spain have a lot of injurys.)

i really dont think england has what it takes dude, on paper, as always, they are the team to beat, but they never gel properly and to be honest, i think there was a few foolish squad choices.

I completely agreed with Walcott's omission, he struggled badly against Mexico and Japan. Heskey's inclusion isn't the popular choice, but after seeing Darren Bent up front with Rooney it's justified imo.

im not convinced by heskey and, to be honest, i think barry is a mistake, happens every world cup, they bring a crock, take a gamble, and it backfires.

plus the man hasnt even had a fantastic season, he's been much much better.

i doubt portugal will go too far either.

i'm sticking with spain but still belive that, if theres to be an "upset" like when greece won the european championship, then the aussies are the ones to watch.

holland might suprise too.

I like Portugal but I think they rely heavilly on Ronaldo to produce. I read today that he hasn't scored for Portugal for almost 2 years which is a big suprise considering how many he scores at club level.

I think the Aussies have a good team but I dont think they'll go all the way. Holland on the other hand have a lot of good players, if they perform they'll be right up there.

well, as im "northern irish" the whole hand ball thing was hilarious to me, i mean, france Vs ireland at penalties would have led to the same result but "no!! we'd ahve won it" lol its lethal, i dunno what irish fans would do if its a france england final... possibly try and bomb the stadium rather an support either of them!

I watched the France game the other night, Henry chased a ball over the top and the defender came running across and played it away with his hand. Oh it was entertaining watching Henry complaining about the defender's blatant handball!

the aussies were closing that gap at 2-0 in the second half til cahill got sent off, but with him missing, and kewell injured, its looking more than glum for them, if they can scrape through the groups and get that defence working they still might do ok but i dont see it now

I think the Cahill sending off finished them off. Hopefully he can get it changed to a yellow on an appeal, should never have been a red card.

definately not, he hadnt even been warned before like so i'd have given him a final warning even rather than a yellow.

on a side note, holland need to sort out their defence, if they can do that they'd do well.

Holy Portugal/Ivory Coast. Wasn't a fan of the obvious leniency that one ref was showing towards IC, but whatcha gonna do. That game was intense. Better luck next time? Best 0-0 game I can remember lol.

Brazil next. Don't beat North Korea too badly or Kim Jong Il will nuke Brazil.

I thought the Portugal game was incredibly boring. :2

The best part of it was the stoppage time at the end of the game when the Ivory Coast decided to attack, then they give up and take a short corner to end the game. Completley pointless. I'm just looking forward to a good game tonight from Brazil.
