My new realm of hacking

Well, now that just about everything I hacked for SYM has been ported to HCTP, I'm venturing into new territories where some more real action is at.

Back in the days of No Mercy for the N64, we called it the Player section. All kinds of stuff was there. Now I'm starting up hacking the P1 section of HCTP ( or as some might call it, the Upper Left Player )

Once I get some significant finds, I'll probably start anoyher big post like the Wrestler mods. Till then, I'll tease you with the possibilities.

P1 will do Big Swing instead of the Rock Sharpshooter if opponent is face down ( Hex NTSC )

The working address there is 10C132D4. This address stores the value of the move that P1 is going to do once he's finished flipping over the opponent.

Some of you might think this is a neat trick, but this is pretty weak compared to a lot of the stuff that's waiting to be found...

Here's another one for ya's

00C132B0 000000?? : P1 stun time

Values :

00 : Player WILL NOT stay down. Automatically kicks out of pinfall attempts. Can't put ground holds on him. Doesn't submit to non-metered submission moves.

FF : Player will stay down/groggy a long time.

Just now found out that these do NOT work with CAWs. The area I'm exploring is based on the Infinite/No Specials codes. THEY don't work with CAWs either. These same addys must exist for CAWs, but are in a different place. If anyone knows of a working infinite/no specials code for CAWs, I'd be eager to hear about it.

the inf. specials for all players code works with caws maybe you could make the code work with it.

I have the code somewhere I 'll post it here when I find it if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Don't bother, that won't help. I'll need an upper right player Infinite/No specials addy to make it work right.

Do you suppose you could hack one that enables you to keep a submission hold that doesn't have a slider to stay on an opponent longer than usual. Or does that stun time code affect this?

I don't think so. The metered submission holds have repeating animations. The move is probably broken up into several parts ( Putting the hold on, holding the hold, and releasing the hold ) . The non-metered ones are just a straight-through animation with a marker that checks for opponent damage during a particular frame. The stun time mod -may- have an effect on the calculations, but there's nothing that could make a section of the animation repeat itself. Maybe with a RAM memory editor I could figure something out in a year or so, but it's not even remotely possible with what I'm using.

P1 Ghost Codes

20C131E0 00000000 - P1 is invisible ( except for his shadow )

20C131E4 00000000 - P1 is intangible ( cannot be hit or grappled, but P1 can hit & grapple other players )

Only works with male non-CAW wrestlers, caused a lockup when I was knocked out of the ring in a 3-on-1 handicap, but I left the ring without a lockup in a normal tag match...why is that I wonder?

If I change the value to 00000001 will that make him always tangible? It would be neat if that would work on an elimimation type match.

I haven't mucked with the values there, yet. I don't know if 00000001 makes the wrestler tangible. Maybe this could allow you to break up submission holds...
