I was rooting for Ireland and thought they played awesome, yet they ended up going out thanks to the most blatant hand ball i've ever seen.

Surely now that this has happened in such a big game FIFA have to now seriously look to have video replays to deal with incidents like this.

Knowing Fifa they will do fuck all they have no backbone they just let things happen. Its happened so many times Fifa just standing watching not wanting to get involved.

The FAI have appealed to FIFA to have the match replayed but I dont see them having any chance of getting anything out of it. It'll be thrown out as soon as they receive it.

nah, i'm never in favor of video refs for football, use it after and deal with cheating players, they will stop cheating as much, but as far as things like this go? the controversy, the scandal, the conversation points? thats football! its great beachball, maradonna's hand, that goal for spurs against united that was pretty much lifted from the back of the net that never counted? great stuff

also, fuck ireland, they steal all our good players lol

If every controversial move was reviewed before the ref's judgement, then there would be so many teams crying for a rematch if they think there was foul play. It would take alot of the atmosphere out of football.
