Face of Smackdown Storyline

Just finished Part one of my first storyline took alot longer than i thought, the mode is addicting though spent a few hours putting together the storyline.

It has its up and downs only a few things i wasnt sure about, the storyline is about the face of Smackdown egos and a battle for the top spot.

This is just part one which leads up to the Royal Rumble, check it out though i think its one of the better ones on line at the moment and let me know what you think.

I'll check it out tomorrow after work. Yeah I've played about 10 downloaded stories, and in everyone one, the kid has thought it was a good idea to use every novelty scene at their disposal. They're non-sensical, and the writing is horrid, a simple spell check is too much to ask for.

For me what is annoying is the storyline has to go through a word check before being uploaded and i had some words blocked but i used words that are ok in a PG/12 film. Plus the game is rated 15 so i dont see why the filter is so harsh.

Just noticed the version i put up the first week is a bit odd well just some text a few spelling mistakes which are just letters missing. Seems odd as i checked and fixed any of the mistakes.

THQ seem to have really struck gold with this mode, as long as you know the one your downloading is quality before you get it.

Ok, I played it and I have a few things.

Firstly, is that the difficulty you play the game on? I finished the last man standing match at RR in no exaggeration, 1:58. John Cena did not land a punch, I hit my finisher at 1:48, and Cena never got up from it. In Story Designer, you set the difficulty, yours is very easy.

Second, a feud requires action from both sides. You stage three matches between Jericho and Cena, and Jericho wins everyone of them. The only action Cena gets in, is a heel turn by attacking Jericho after he's lost a match. Faces never do this, it's a heel thing. Ofcourse you weren't intending a heel turn, so the scene is out of place. Things do get better after the Royal Rumble match, but that only highlights that the non-feud with Cena was non-essential. Also, Cena wasn't even from SmackDown in the first place, but Jericho claims after beating him that he's the face of SmackDown because he beat Cena. Might have been better to use some SmackDown stars, stage a Championship Scramble, have Jericho win and claim he's the face of SmackDown. Now you've achieved in one week what you achieved in four. Also in the first week, when you have Vince talking, it's a minor thing, but a commentator talks in the middle of the Vince promo. Commentators never speak in the middle of a promo.

And lastly, what you already realised, there's grammar and spelling issues. The filter thing is understandable, the filter picked me up on lines that didn't even have anything remote to swearing in it. There wasn't even copyrighted stuff on anything in it, it made no sense. I gave up and just uploaded it with the asterisks, so if words are missing in mine, chances are that weren't even swear words. They don't even highlight the offending word in the text editor, so you have to rewrite entire sentences with different words to get around it. Fuck that, I'll just put up with some missing words.

So yeah, I liked the Royal Rumble aspect of your story, the four weeks before that were unfocused.

Yeah i understand the Cena heel stuff i wanted something like Cena FU Jericho after the match or something and that was the nearest thing to it.

The difficultly is on normal totally forgot about putting it up to hard usually play on Legend but thought hard would best suit the storyline so it isnt to hard.

Not sure if ill do a second part i know now how everything works and such so it will be easier to do anouther one, fresh start on it thinking of doing WWE vs TNA Invasion or something along those lines.

Yeah, limitations, don't compromise the story though. Transferring play to Cena, and just having him win the match would have achieved the same thing. Or, keep play as Jericho, but set the win requirement to Lose by DQ, forcing the player to use a weapon. Or, set it to Win by Countout, set Dolph Ziggler to run in for Jericho. That way you can play off that Dolph held Cena on the outside. Both set Jericho as a cheating heel, and Cena as the underdog face.
