jitz Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 It's months old, but Sony only got around to releasing it here the other week. So I would just like to point out to all those that might have been avoiding it, 26 minutes of new additional footage actually makes Advent Children make sense, something I thought would not be possible. Congratulations to Tetsuya Nomura for swallowing his pride and realising he needed to better explain his plot and characters. Quote
Aero Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 sweet... 1st time i watched it i fell asleep (not cos it was shite, i was very tired) never got round to watching it again.... sounds like i inadvertantly dodged a bullet and can now enjoy a more sensical movie Quote
Smacktalks Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I watched the first edition and liked it for the FF7 characters but the story was really poor and had a bunch of gaps. I lent the Complete version last month to watch but fell asleep through parts of it, yet it looked glorious in full hd and what I did see of the story seemed to make more sense. Gonna re-watch it again at some point. Quote
jitz Posted October 16, 2009 Author Posted October 16, 2009 Yeah it's a long movie now, clocking it at 2 hours. I watched the half hour Denzel anime on the disc first, that also adds more character to Denzel, so that turns it into two and a half hours. A lot of the gaps about geostigma, Denzel, and Cloud are filled in. They take some things from Crisis Core and add that to the movie, that really helps flesh Cloud out as an actual person trying to keep Zack's legacy alive, not a souless wandering warrior like he's portrayed as in the original version. Still, the pacing can be a little off, it's by no means a perfect movie. I do recommend watching it though. Quote
Smacktalks Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Was there many extras to watch besides the trailers and FFXIII footage? I didn't get a chance to go through them before I gave it back to my mate. Quote
Fozy Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 It wasn't that confusing, I guess some parts could have been more fleshed out, but for what it had I don't think I got lost at all. Might see if I can get a hold of complete though. Quote
