The Don Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 So let me go out on a limb here by saying Zombieland is right up there with Inglorious Basterds, atleast in my book. I went intot it with rather low expectations, I just wanted to go see a movie and knew the commercial makes me laugh every time. When the movie first started I was afraid I had made a mistake because the Omaha in the beginning is really annoying and he seemed like a ripof of Michael Cera in Superbad, to be fair he kinda is, but that changed quickly with the arrival of the zombies. Once Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) shows up the movie achieves greatness. I can't believe I just used greatness and Woody Harrelson in the same sentance, but I can't deny the fact that it's a great movie. There is a "romance" subplot in it but it doesn't ruin the movie, if anything it makes it better. Besides, Emma Stone was hot in Superbad and she's hotter in this with the addition of a SPAS-12. I am also going to go out on another limb and say Zombieland has the best (in my opinion atleast) cameo ever. I won't ruin it but there are laughs a plenty in his scene(s). The only downer of the movie is it's rather short, like 90 minutes short. But other than that, it's fucking great, only movie I've been to where people actually applauded after the movie. If you ahve even the tiniest intrest in the movie, go. I can foresee this movie being like Lord of War, having a Blu-Ray copy for downstairs and a DVD copy for up in my room. Quote
Niles Jansen The Third Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Awesome movie, have to agree. I expecting some kind of a friend turns into zombie, has to kill zombified friend to survive thing to happen after the way they found the girls, just the way it seemed like it was playing out. It didn't get too much into the characters in that way, but instead served as just being a pretty slick "watch with a bunch of friends" movie. Quote
