ok, in the spirit of pauls challenge, and because poppn isnt on enough to entertain us with his "girl troubles" i thought i'd jump infront of that bullet!

ok, so im 25, single and not on the pull... why am i not on the pull? of late, mainly since i grew the beard, i've had women constantly come up to me instead, im taking the lazy option, and, while its great, a trend has formed which i'm struggling with.... these girls are all very young, i'd like to say 20 and under, but most are simply 17 going on 18, they are usually pretty hot, and a bit mental.... but that has its advantages.

anyways, nothing too much rarely happens, a bit of getting hammered and going with them, get a number, text a bit, then never bother with them, some times i will confess more happens... a fact i was getting quite ashamed of.

then, last week, a girl who i knew through a friend of a friend of a friend kinda thing, came over to me, chattin away etc and yeah, it was obvious where it was leading. i thought, nah, fuck this, i'll regret it again in the morning even tho she's pretty fit, just too young etc.

....i woke up that saturday morning and even before my hangover kicked in i was still full of regret, thinking "well, sure i might as well have". she is still in contact with me so its not like i blew it altogether, tho that point is a bit irrelivant.

to get to the main point, how young is deemed to young (obviously as long as its legal) esp when im not lookin for anything long term or serious?

It's a tricky one. For a man in his 20s, my thought is that they shouldn't really go out with someone under 20. Obviously, a 21 year old and a 19 year old wouldn't be much of a problem, but a 19 year old and a 24/5/6/etc. approaches the realms of strangeness. Oddly, a 25 year old and a 20 year old in the mind doesn't seem too strange, and as such, I consider that the line.

As we get older though, say 34, anything upto 10 years younger seems absolutely fine. A 30 year old female going out with a 40 year old male doesn't seem quite so strange to me, and probably, thats they way it should continue throughout life, a maximum of 10 years difference.

Of course, a marrying a woman ten years older than yourself is completely abnormal.

Below 17 is too young. Although my mate Phil dated a 17 year old for a bit during uni and still hasn't shaken the nickname 'Paedophil'. I personally wouldn't go younger than 18 unless we're talking about one fit fucking 17 year old.

I have an issue vaguely related. Going out on with an 18 year old on a second 'date' I would assume you'd call it. She's from work. Don't know if I fancy her but I can't seem to let her down. Don't want to lead her on because she's very sweet but yeah.

lol, I was talking about this exact topic earlier.

I went with a 5-year rule, so being 24 my cut off point would be 19. That said, if I was in your position and on a night out, completley hammered, I might go lower if it's on the table and worth it.

Like Martin said tho, once you move into your 30's the 5 year rule stretches out to 10, but your chances of reaching your limit will diminish unless your someone like Roman Abromavich and your rolling in it.

ah see, i have a friend from school, she hooked up with a 31 year old while we where 21, shes now 26, he's 36, they are gettin married, back then it was weirdish but now its not a big issue, so i kinda see what ur sayin ming, esp since she is the younger of them, im def ok with a 10 year gap when both parties are... a bit more mature, but again, much like urselves the word "teen" appearing is weird as fuck.

like i said, they do approach me, forward as fuck these girls, but its generally a 1 night thing followed by a few let down texts, also iain 1 of them is smokin hot possibly why the dilema is here... 18 next month tho ;) lmao

i dunno, 2 years ago i was goin with a girl who had just turned 18 (for about a month, it was a rebound thing) and after a few weeks i got a flat tyre, stuck on the spare but was thinkin i didnt put it on right, so i risked droppin her off and gettin her da to check over it as he's a mechanic...
