Smacktalks Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Is anyone using this? I tried it when it was first released but thought it looked to "bare" and it seemed about the same speed as Firefox, yet I've started using it again today and it seems lightning fast. It's even got a spell checker to automatically check what your typing into forms like this when replying. Very nice, check it out. Quote
Aero Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 well i do believe back then it was still in beta... might give it another go myself also, heres a link cos pauls a bit lazy it seems - Google Chrome Quote
jitz Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 I tried it a few months ago, and thought it was too bare aswell, I didn't like the position of the tabs either. Since the last update to Firefox though, it's been completely fucked for me. My browser crashes all the time and the speed that Firefox used to run at seems to have been cut. So I've been switching between Chrome and Safari seeing which one I like best, they're about the same. Quote
stacysmikeyboy Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 wasn't really impressed with it back then but yeah they most certainly overhauled it especially the speed very nicely I might add. Quote
Aero Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 chris, im havin nooo bothers with firefox at the min mayb sumthins up, hav u tried lookin for a newer build? Quote
jitz Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 I've tried everything. I have had no problems with the browser till they released v3.5, and that very day I updated, it crashed. I've looked into it on their forums, but it's hard to tell if the crashes people are talking about are the cause of your own. There's so many things it could be like hardware, the Windows 7 RC, any one of the addons I have, or even any combination of the addons. I've uninstalled, installed newer daily builds, they all eventually crash. They don't crash straight away, they can last a week or more, but I've never had any issues with Firefox until 3.5. Quote
ALL STAR Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Ive had issues with Firefox recently as well with 3.5 it would crash or would just be really slow, the latest update seems to of fixed whatever was wrong though. Never tried chrome though Firefox is fine for me with the add ons and such, think ill just keeep with Firefox for now. Quote
Smacktalks Posted August 16, 2009 Author Posted August 16, 2009 Chris i'm having the same problems with FF, that's why I checked out Chrome. The latest update to FF has stopped it happening as much, but I still have pages keep timing out once I open a few tabs. A few people said to uninstall 3.5, reboot and then install 3.0 but i've still got the same problems with it. I'm just gonna try and stick to Chrome until I get my Windows 7 through the post and then i'll retry FF. Quote
