deadman_cgc Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Im planning on dying my hair with semi-permenant dye. It comes in a can and you spray it in, most likely halloween dye. Once the dye is in, can i straighten it? Or will color get on the flat iron or make the color lessen? If anyone knows could you please answer, Thanks Quote
System of a Daan Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Go to a barber. If you want to dye your hair don't do it yourself, it is bound to fail. Quote
Aero Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 hey deadman, i didnt realise you where gay, good luck with that... i hope it turns out horribly, ur a man (or boy) you shouldnt ben dealing with hair dye until ur goin gray 1 Quote
Smacktalks Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I tried non-permanent dyes back when Beckham was at United and always ended up turning my hair ginger. My best advise would be to get it done at a barbers. At least if it goes wrong they've be able to sort it or you'll get it done for free if you complain. As for straightening it I think it would just come off onto the straighteners. Quote

Smacktalks Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I'll be using it when I start to go grey, dont see what the big deal is. Quote
Aero Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 nah if my family history is anyting to go by, i'll be safe another 5-10 years then mayb get the wingtips my beard has a few blonde hairs through it, they will probably turn grey too but cos they are already blonde it wont look much different. im generally against dying grey hair on men too, but if they are dying it their natural colour then i'm not too bothered, i just wont be doing it 1 Quote
Big Bizang Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 You see how ridiculous McCartney's hair looks right? How about how much better Tom Jones looks now he's let his hair go grey? Guys should always let it go naturally. It just looks sad if you dye it at that age. Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Aye, Tom Jones looks classy these days compared to how ridiculous he was looking later on. McCartney is a cunt if whether he dyes his hair or not. Men look quite distinguised with grey hair. Quote
crunk Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I've played around with hairdyes before for old-skool sports carnivals. Basically dude, the semi permanent stuff is fucking gross...especially the stuff in a can... it's made to come out, so like any messing with it is bound to cause some gnarly problems, whether it be colour coming out or the stuff just turning a diff colour. If its not a weird colour, then just use the permanent shit and not leave it in too long... it'll start fading pretty fast if you wash your hair heaps. Quote
CS Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 The majority of my cousins hair are already grey and falling out and only one is over the age of 30, I'm fucked. Alright cgc considering I've literally had every colour of the rainbow for a hair colour at one time I should know something about this and yes those of you wondering I was an emo for a couple of years. First don't put that spray shit in your hair, for one most of the spray things are basically coloured hair spray and second never buy any semi-permanent hair dye the colour will be gone within a week or two and you'll be left with a terrible colour. I wouldn't recommend purple, it fades to grey. If your set on doing it yourself then what wanna do first when working with non-natural colours is to bleach your hair as blonde as you can first, leave in the bleach for a good half hour because the dye reacts better with lighter hair and go buy some permanent dye ffs its not even worth it when its semi, guarantee your hair will look like shit within a week. jitz Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 This topic is the gayest to come around since Thom's fashion tips. Anything with cool colours is made to come out, with every wash you'll see your once cool hair going down the drain. It fades and fades and then you look like a wanker. So before you do any cool haircuts with colours, you need an exit strategy. Whether it be dying it back to a darker colour, or cutting it out. You won't be able to straighten it with an iron, and fucks knows why you'd want to. I reckon the colour will fade even quicker. 1 Quote
System of a Daan Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Isnt straightening with an iron kinda dangerous? You know, set your head on fire? Or are you talking about that thing women with curly hair use. (Is that also called an iron?) Quote
Aero Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 i was under the impression they where "tongs" or now just called straightners.. or my ex always said ghd's but im pretty sure thats a brand Quote

Thom Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 If you dye your hair any colour besides brown or blonde then the main side effect is looking like a prick. You're not Jeff Hardy. 1 Quote
