Smacktalks Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 Well I wasn't expecting to see him join after his history with Liverpool but i'm happy about it, especially how he's joined on a free transfer. What'd you think of it Dave from a Liverpool supporters perspective? Judas? Quote
Aero Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 i think the guy played too hard when he was younger, he's gettin over his injuries etc but he's gonna be slower and his knees are apparently pretty weak. i think he;s have been better going to a crappy team and getting 1st team football, i really think he's going to united to be a bench warmer due to this theory he's not really interested in football any more. from the liverpool point of view i have a few opinions floating around. 1. is obviously "but you played for liverpool" grrr lol 2. i was gutted when he left, have a soft spot for him so, whilst i dont want united winnin the league etc, i'd quite like him to get back intot he england team (provided he does have interest in football still) 3. i've slightly enjoyed his running history since he left in a sick way, goes foreign, is a flop, lots of injurys, comes home with his tail between his legs, booted out of england team, gets religated etc so in a way, it would be quite fitting for him to go to the current champs then watch liverpool win the league when he always had his chance to stay! take what you will from thise ramblings Quote
System of a Daan Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 I thought Owen was dead. What happenend to him after Liverpool anyway? Quote
Smacktalks Posted July 5, 2009 Author Posted July 5, 2009 He joined Real Madrid, played for them for 1 season and then joined Newcastle. When he was at Newcastle he was out all the time for the first two seasons and only played 10 games or so over both seasons. His last two seasons seen him play 30ish games each, but he was still picking up injuries and only playing bits of games. Newcastle ended up getting relegated and his contract with them expired on Wednesday, so he was free to go wherever wanted him. Quote
