Smacktalks Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8119951.stm TMZ are reporting he's dead after being rushed to hospital not breathing, yet the latest reported news is he's in a coma. Quote
The Smackethdown Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 R.I.P. it felt like the world froze when I found out. The music world definitely has a gaping hole of emptiness (not that that makes any sense, but you get the point) Quote
System of a Daan Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Oh, sad to hear. I loved his music. RIP Quote

Elmnt254 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 It's horrible to see him go. I love his music. He had some issues, don't get me wrong, but he was a great artist. AND no matter what anyone says, unless there is some actual proof that He molested those boys, I don't believe it. Quote
phil Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I know Thom, I know. :'( Such a damned travesty this is. May the one and only King of Pop rest easy. Quote
Heart Breaker Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Rest in Peace Michael Jackson. I don't look at the individual as much as I look at the man who revolutionized music for me personally, and plenty of others. I remember listening to him as a child. Michael was actually the first person I have memory of listening to. He was a true inspiration and ahead of his time. I remember loving his music. Being in awe of Thriller. Wanting to dance just like him. The world lost the most inspirational musician of my lifetime. Sad to see some people who talk shit even after he's gone. But that's life. You're surrounded by the respectful and the pitiful. R.I.P. Michael. Still can't believe you're gone. Quote
Jonny Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 This is a little hard to believe. It won't sink in. Rest in peace, Michael. Quote
The Don Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I herd this, my reaction was "Oh well..." Yes he made good music and it'll live on forever but he was fucked in the head. As much as I'm sure everyone is going to twist this, maybe he's better off dead. Now he won't be a walking, talking joke... Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 True that. Still a shame that someone that talented is that fucked up. Only person above him in the history of music is probably Elvis. Quote
Joe =/ Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 MJ is the man, but it didn't stop me from chuckling at a text I got earlier: "Did you hear what they are doing to Michael Jackson? They are melting him down and turning him into lego so the kids can have their turn to play with him" R.I.P MJ - thanks for the music, you shall live on through our speakers ! Quote
Fozy Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I'm gonna go out on a limb, for me personally and say he was the most talented musician to have ever lived, even more so than Elvis. Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 That's your opinion Iain, he was immensely talented. My ranking has Elvis as the top, and Michael Jackson second. Quote
Aero Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 he likes to argue? this is like when elvis dies but for a different generation of music fans, both are very comparable for different reasons when it comes to music. personally i hope ppl wont start a whole "but he wsa a pedo" campaign over the head of fans mourning his death tho esp since theres been no evidence really, there will always be doubt but it should stay at that. Quote
Jonny Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I have to agree with Iain on his comment. You could not get bored of listening to or watching Michael Jackson's music videos. But I'm sure everybody would get a bit annoyed after a while, if it were Elvis. I don't want to turn this into an Elvis vs MJ thread. Just saying. Quote
Aero Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 again tho , opinion. my mum could watch elvis all day, doesnt really care for michael jackson. whilst i get what you are saying, there is no right or wrong answer, its purely down to personal choice, both have stormed the charts for years, re-released singles etc. jacko would get my vote like, but again, im a younger generation and grew up listening to bad ans such the like, its what defined my music taste in my earliest years Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 When was I arguing here? Anyway, whilst i get what you are saying, there is no right or wrong answer, its purely down to personal choice, both have stormed the charts for years, re-released singles etc. Is the right answer. You could not get bored of listening to or watching Michael Jackson's music videos. But I'm sure everybody would get a bit annoyed after a while, if it were Elvis. Is the wrong answer. Quote
