Smacktalks Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 http://dave.uktv.co.uk/library/red-dwarf/r...opsis-revealed/ Anyone plan on checking these out over the weekend? The first parts on tonight on Dave, then 2nd part tomorrow, third on Sunday. I'm quite looking forward to them, it used to be pretty good back in the day, didn't think it'd actually make a return. Aero Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 i'll download them, the barr takes up most of my weekends Quote
Smacktalks Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 lol, I was thinking V+ (Virgins shitty Sky+ alternative ) Quote
scoot Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I'll be watching the first episode tonight, then off to the local, fingers crossed that these episodes might actually be good! Quote
Aero Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 ah we were playin rock band, then watched it, then went to the bar then went cruisin for an hour.... it was really shit lmao, same old crap with beter cgi. Quote
Smacktalks Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 I wasn't too impressed, it was ok, but not as good as I was hoping. I seen ome of the old ones and noticed they had "canned laughter" on them whenever something funny happened and it really seemed to make a difference. With the new ones, it just seemed pretty dead whenever someone cracked a joke. I'm just hoping it improves when they get back to Earth. The best part was the confirmation Rimmer was a bit crap imo, lol. Quote
Aero Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 thats the only thing i laughed at to be honest. Quote
scoot Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 the sneeze iron was pretty good. actually felt like a building episode for the other 2. i agree with you 100% Paul, not having the laugh track takes away from it, makes you feel like your having to force a laugh out. im betting these episodes will look a lot better back to back. Jonny Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 I'm enjoying the special at the moment. There seems to be alot of hints of series 10, the prequel to back to earth. Quote
scoot Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 last nights episode was far better than the first. here's hoping the trend continues tonight Quote
Smacktalks Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 Yeah, i'm looking forward to tonights, last ngiht's was a lot better. The first just seemed to be setting things in place for the other two. Quote
scoot Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 well, that was a lot better, i called the despair squid right from seeing it in the first episode. it certainly was a case of the first episode setting up the other 2. feels like the movie toned down. so, any thoughts there might be a chance for another series?? Quote
Jonny Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 Well they have left us hanging, again! The only hope is that they get the funding for another 2 seasons, to wrap it all up. Quote
Smacktalks Posted April 12, 2009 Author Posted April 12, 2009 I'm hopeful there'll be another series, it seemed to set it up for Lister going in search for Kachansky. I checked wikipedia for news and it said they were gonna see how much interest there was in this special before talking about a new season. Doug Naylor has stated in an interview with Dave that he would like to make another series, but that "we would have to wait and see" how good or bad the reaction to "Back to Earth" was. He also stated that he would "never make a series 9," but he does want to make a series 10. He then went on to say that "that will make a lot more sense in future". Anyone understand this quote? I thought the special was supposed to answer it but i'm still clueless. Quote
Jonny Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I said before Back to Earth was broadcasted that it would be a "water tester" before making a new series. If there's one thing we can agree on with Red Dwarf is that alot of it doesn't make sense until the very end, then it's obvious. If Series 10 is made, there could be episodes where they go back in time to series 9, thus no point for making a series 9. Quote
scoot Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 yea i thought id get it, but during back to earth, season 10 is referred to, which would mean season 10 would be a prequel to back to earth. however the way it has been set up, it looks like the search for kotchanski would be the main plot of a new season. which would make no sense whatsoever, because it would have to be the 11th season, making seasons 9 and 10 essentially none existent other than for reference purposes in back to earth and season 11. all this stuff is somewhat confusing. the interview wikipedia is refering to is here http://dave.uktv.co.uk/video/red-dwarf/exc...lor-red-carpet/ Quote
