Ste-Rulez Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 Liverpool!!! Hope so.. Good win today 2-0 over Chelsea, be nice if someone other than Chelsea or United won it for a change Quote
Aero Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 i miss the days when ppl said it'd be nice for sum1 other than liverpool to win the league lmao. anyways, good result, and liverpool were all over them but as always never really did anything when they got forward. am still unsure about the frank lampard sending off, he go tthe ball, but he did jump in with 2 feet, studs showing and looking the other way... coin toss. would love liverpool to win the league, but lets face it, even if they beat utd again, they still have to depend on utd slipping up, which at the min is looking unlikely. Smacktalks Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Liverpool to win the league? The real winner is shown in your member details on the left Ste I thought it would be Liverpool's to win earlier in the season, but it was then a case of being Liverpool's to lose and they greatly obliged. I think it's all done to Rafa, his squad choices and substitutions are some of the worst footballing decisions i've ever seen. Sure Keane isn't banging in the goals, but to keep dropping him from the squad is an absolute joke. If I was keane, i'd rather just walk out. As for Lampard, it wasn't a sending off imo. He did leave the ground to make the tackle, but he didn't make any contact with Alonso, Alonso made contact with Lampard. I think the FA will over rule it and give him a yellow, although i'd love to see him suspended for 3 games Quote
Aero Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 sure keanes gone. keane had a few glimmers or magic OUTSIDE the box, they'd have been better playin kuyt/babel/ngog up front when torres was injured as keane would have provided the chances, but if rafa never wanted him there then he was always gonna be a waste of money. cisse is another example of this, we kept houlier til he signed cisse, then got rid of him, cisse fell in love with liverpool but rafa just didnt like him. he does make some shit decisions tho, subbing on the likes of lucas or el zhar for no good reason etc. i'm just praying torres works his magic and we can get a few ore goals from all the pushing forward we do in most games, if we're 3-0 by the 60th minute i'll care less about the stupid subs. still tho, its all irrelivent until utd drop points & liverpool beat them, if this doesnt happen the leagues over. Ste-Rulez Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) hopefully rafa will pull someone out the bag to replace keane coz if torres got injured liverpool are screwed, transfer window still "open" for a little longer, liverpool need david villa Edited February 2, 2009 by Ste-Rulez Quote
Aero Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 transfer window only open if they can prove they where in talks b4 thr 5pm deadline on a case by case scenario, as such, aye, we'd have been better keepin keane lol, but i dunno, ngog might suprise you with a bit ore 1st team action, he does very well in the reserves etc Quote
Ste-Rulez Posted February 3, 2009 Author Posted February 3, 2009 could just lie n say villa couldnt get to england coz of the weather lol Quote
Smacktalks Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Doesn't look like they picked anyone up then... As for Arsenal, they got their man :2 Quote
Ste-Rulez Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 not an arsenal fan but i hope arshavin makes an early impact on the premier league, after all this messin about taking ages to actually sign him he better do good, not "do a keane" and leave in the summer for half the price Quote
Smacktalks Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 He was good in parts at the Euro's, but I think he'll do well for Arsenal. Even though i'm a Man United fan, I still love to watch Arsenal's football, it's just a bonus when they lose Quote
System of a Daan Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 You British lads are all supporting the wrong team... Whatever happenend to supporting your home-town? That being said, I like Arsenal =) Quote
Joe =/ Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 ARSENAL ! ARSENAL ! We will win the league for sure. Arshavin is going to score more goals than ronaldo did last season. *pinches self* Quote
Aero Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 yo, daan, the northern ireland leagues are shit, as such i get the free choice of a team from the english leagues lol, my dad was a liverpool fan and seen them lift the majority of their trophies so it was instilled on me and my bros to support them, was the closest thing we had to our dad takin us to the local side's stadiums for our 1st match blah blah blah. as for the rest of these guys... aye, silly buggers dunno where they live lol Quote
Ste-Rulez Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 My home town team are Macclesfield Town, i go to most of there home games but they are shit and in League 2 sooo im a Liverpool fan aswel Quote
Smacktalks Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 Well I live inbetween Sunderland and Newcastle, plus my dad's family come from Liverpool, that's why I support Manchester United. Quote
Aero Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 that makes perfect sense... glory hunter. also, liverpool may well be out of the running judging by that shit tonight. Quote
Ste-Rulez Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Everton can suck my balls, first they knock out my home team Macclesfield then beat Liverpool ffs Quote
Fozy Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 i agree with aero. you're well a glory hunter. i support man u because when i was growing up me and my cousin watched them play all the time. giggs was his favourite footballer and shit. so yeah, i like them a lot. Quote
System of a Daan Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 As I'm Dutch and was made an insta-fan of Dennis Bergkamp when he scored that brilliant goal vs Argentina in the 1/4 Final of World Cup 1998. That was about the same time he joined Arsenal.. So gogo Arsenal! Quote
LegendKiller74 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Big game on Saturday if there's to be any hope of anyone catching United and making it a closer run in that it seems to be. But even if Liverpool DO win, there's still a 7 point gap if United win their game in hand, so can't really see past Man Utd now tbh. I'm a Celtic fan myself and I don't actually support an English team, but I like watching them when they're on form, and cheer them on in the Champions League. Apart from Chelsea. Quote
Trips Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 You know Liverpool are not even a threat anymore, you can't beat Middlesborough ffs. Quote
Aero Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 IF if if Legend killer. a game in hand doesn not = 3 points (especially if its a game in hand liverpool ahve ) we'll see what happens 2mw and base it on that, but yeah, if liverpool lose, then its over for them and chelsea because chelsea need that gap closed too. granted if liverpool win, it's still a case of winning every match and prayin utd fuck up 3 of them. seems unlikely. 2mw will go a big way to how the end of the season will shape up tho. if its a draw utd still pretty much have it but it'll keep chelseas dream alive that bit longer Quote
Aero Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 great result. heres hoping that red card leads to a few more goals, a few less points and a demoralised man utd, how mad would it be if it was a 3 horse race come the last match of the season? arsenal and city still need to visit utd, not the easiest of teams.... who knows... oooooohhhhh lmao utd probably still have it in the bag tho. nice to do the double over them if nothing else. 4-1 YEY!!! RAPE!!! Quote
LegendKiller74 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I really thought Liverpool were in trouble when United went 1-0 up but they were amazing after that. Sure Vidic fucked up bigtime for the first goal, but Torres still had to make a nuisance of himself and how calm was the finish?! As soon as he was in, there was just no doubt he was scoring. Great result, throws the race back open and proves united aren't invincible. Great stuff. Quote
Aero Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 thats just how awesome torres is when he's on form. the 3 open goals just embarrassed utd, but to be honest, it was probably the kop goin 1-0 down that inspired a comeback.... vidic didt do utd any favors tho. would be mental if the last day came down to goal difference or 1 or 2 points between the top 3 Quote
