Smacktalks Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 What did you think of the 2 Hour premiere? I thought it was ok, but it seemed to go over really fast as if they were cramming too much into the first 2 hours. As for the whole lost in time thing, it was kinda obvious after the comic con video, but I guess it could explain how The Others appear in parts of the forest, etc. out of no where. Same for the whispers, etc. Quote
Aero Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 didnt really read that. JUST realised half an hour ago that it was already on in the U.S. downloading as we speak Quote
Aero Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 who the fuck was that at the end of the 2st episode? Quote
Smacktalks Posted January 23, 2009 Author Posted January 23, 2009 The white haired woman? She was the one that Desmond met when he went to buy the wedding ring for Penny, but she told him that he doesn't buy and the ring and doesn't propose to Penny. That's when Desmond then flipped and went on the boat race that took him to the island. She seems to have "flashed" there in order to see Desmond and guide him to the island, as she could see the future when she pointed out the guy in the red sneakers who then died. Quote
Aero Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 fuck, aye ur right.... weird... its probably future kate or something rediculous... Quote
Fozy Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 none of anyones theories have ever been right. i think everyone should just stop guessing. Quote
Aero Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 ...hence my rediculous theory anyways, this is the penultimate series... yet they keep opening up more and more fucking angles, the last series will have to close all of these, meaning it'll be completly different imo Quote

I remember thinking at the end of the premiere to myself if I was supposed to know who she was or if she was a new character. Thanks for that man Quote
Fozy Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 i think jack and kate will be the two skeletons they find in the cave. Quote
jitz Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 The first two episodes of what I've begun calling "Lost in Time" definitely were a confusing mess and would have done nothing to bring back many of the viewers who simply gave up on the show because it became a confusing mess. Thankfully the third episode "Jughead" is a simple straight forward affair and cuts out a lot of characters, to simply focus on Desmond and the island inhabitants who thankfully have rejoined with Locke to cut out another time zone (there were too many in the first two episodes). This third episode is great, getting across a lot of information for these characters. Desmonds search for Faraday's mother is good, finally giving something for the character to do after the awesome Charlie's death storyline. You get the sense that finding her is actually going to be an important milestone, and putting some roadblocks in the way for him, with a dead end, the time travelling girl in the bed, and Widmore, adds to it. Along with that, the Locke and Richard exchange in 1954 is great, finally showing in a single line of dialogue that Charles Widmore was one of The Others. There has been a big confusing question mark over Charles Widmores relevance to anything, it's great to seem them giving this character a backstory. Now that it's been revealed that he was once on the island, I would bank on them doing an episode of flashbacks for the character later on to do some major revelations. Or maybe they'll keep the Lost in Time storyline going and you'll get more first hand encounters with Charles Widmore on the island, revealing to him the time travel aspect of the island. It'll be good either way. The hydrogen bomb is either a throwaway MacGuffin for the love story of Faraday and Charlotte, which seems there to only give Charlottes's apparent time travelling issues more weight. Or it'll come into play further down the line when they finally decide to blow the island up, Faraday, Widmore, and Richard know where it's buried. My sore point with this season though rests with the "previously on Lost" segemnts at the start of the episodes. They simply aren't recalling enough past plot points to make the relevant new plot points make more sense. I understand that in past seasons the episodes storyline was sometimes given away by showing abstract plot points from two seasons ago, you'd know that this episode would have something relevant to that. Without it though, a lot of the "Wow" moments are fizzing out as even people who have seen every epeisode like myself, don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of everything that has happened. I had completely forgotten who that grey haired woman in the second episode was too. The season is looking promising and has delivered so far, picking up from what was an excellent fourth season. The constant stalling and overall meandering of the shithouse second season is definitely in the past. Oh and Michelle Rodriguez was actaully bearable too, I can't handle anymore then two minutes of her though. She's definitely a reason why I hated the second season. Quote
Fozy Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 i dunno how anyone could forget the grey haired woman. she told desmond not to buy the ring and predicted the future. it was a focal point in the constant, the best episode of lost so far. i found the first two episodes to be really great, faraday finally getting some big screen time is awesome. best character on the show at the moment, keep it up. jitz Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I recognised her, I just couldn't remember from where. Quote
Aero Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 will read ur post in greater detail later jitz, but aye, the start of it i'll agree with, ep3 was much better in getting people back into the show 1& 2 were a mess from that respect Quote
Smacktalks Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 I agree with Chris, the third episode was a lot better paced and seemed to get more of what was happening across, along with answering some questions, but then opening up even more. The whole time travel element seems to have opened up so many potential explanations for things, I think.. When Daniel says Elle reminds him of someone, she'll turn out to be his mother (Mrs. Hawking). As a long shot, i'd also say that Daniel and Charlotte are brother and sister, and that Penny could also be there sister. With Mrs. Hawking and Charles Widmore being their parents. Quote
