Smacktalks Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Last year, unstoppable. This year, not so great. Can't see him winning it next year though, Messi has been far better this season. Quote
Aero Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 he's been kinda shit this year in comparisson. maybs if he wasnt as good last year he's not seem as bad lol. if i didnt hate him so much i'd be more than happy with the current ronaldo playin for liverpool lol Quote
Trips Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I just got back from the Wigan game at Old Trafford and I can confirm that Ronaldo is now officially shit. Along with Scholes, Carrick, Nani and O'Shea. Seriously, one of the worst games I've ever seen. Quote
Aero Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 aye, but atleast you win your shit matches we dont Quote
LegendKiller74 Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I don't even think Ronaldo is the best player at United (Rooney is for me) let alone in the entire world. When he's on form he's nearly unstoppable, but players like Messi seem to play either at a similar level or a higher one, on a MUCH more consistent basis. That being said, I'd still rather have Ronaldo in a team I support as opposed to playing against him. Quote
Aero Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 definately! ah after the way torres started to play on tuesday night, if he's fit next season i'd like to think he'll be in contention for that award Quote
LegendKiller74 Posted March 12, 2009 Posted March 12, 2009 Agreed man. The difference he makes in that team is incredible. His turn (past Cannavaro I think?) about 3 minutes into the game for the opening chance which Casillas put past the post was unreal. But when you take him out of the team (and with Kuyt more fancied as a winger now) who's up front? N'Gog? El Zhar? Still think Benitez might have shot himself in the foot with the Keane deal. But yeah, if Torres can stay fit, he's definitely up there with the best. Quote
Aero Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 he needed to sell kean sooner in that window to use the funds or not sold him at all that said, any games keane started, we were a better team when he was subbed off, even if he was subbed off for shit. still dont know why rafa and babel both insist his best possition is striker then stick him out in rieras position on the wing tho :S Quote
LegendKiller74 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 You'll know a lot better than me Aero, being a liverpool fan, but what do you think of Riera? I really thought this was going to be Babel's break-out season on the left wing but anytime I watch he tends to only be brought on with 10 minutes to go. I still don't understand why they didn't make a real effort to sign David Villa in the summer, instead of spending 19million on Keane. In Villa and Torres Rafa would have had a strikeforce coming off a great European championships for Spain. But then again maybe Valencia just didn't want to sell at the time. With the talk of him possibly going to Man City now, it really would be worthwhile for Liverpool to make an offer if the money is there... Obviously that isn't a problem for City though. Quote
Aero Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 aha but there was a reason for keane, he may be irish, but has english ties and as such will help fulfil any new criteria brought in about fielding more home nataion players etc. after all, whilst the premiership is proving it can dominate europe, the english national side is suffring due to all the imports in the game. same reason why rafa was lookin rid of alonso to get barry from villa, forward plannin as for riera, he's solid, looked great for a few games but not the best. rafa likes babel but i think he knows torres works best with gerrard inbehind him as a lone striker, and they both say babel is a striker as i keep harping on about. in the last few matches i've noticed babel & gerrard make an awesome force tho, switching possitions and starting to show the same ability to read each other that torres and gerrard have. as such he's a great alround sub, hell he can even play in kuyts new position, but again, i cant see him gettin 1st team football unless there is injuries. which is a shame, he's wasted on the wing tho unless he starts tucking in and having more shots. really dunno why el zhar and ngog get chosen over him sometimes tho.
