crunk Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Sup homeys. You're all keeping out of mischief I hope? So basically the main point of this topic revolves around the fact that I just accidentally wiped my ipod. Yeah. Smart move hey. What's a good, easy, free program to use to rip all the music from my old ipod that still has music onto this one again? And, since I'm sure this question will be answered fairly fast, I'll throw you guys another question... I'm just starting to get into reading books. Can anyone recommend any good ones for me? Key points to note are: - I have a short attention span. - I only read autobiographies. - I like reading about sport and music. - I'm a Aussie, so I don't care for weird sports like baseball, ice hockey etc - I hate reading about pretentious cunts who are clearly telling half the story to cover their asses. I just finished reading the Motley Crue one.. that was awesome. I luff me some sex and drugs stories. Cheers bruz! xoxo Quote
Aero Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 walk this way, aerosmith autobiography, i enjoyed it Quote
CanaMatt Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Scar Tissue was quite enjoyable, can get a bit tedious though. Stear clear of Kurt Cobain's biography, worst shit I ever read. Marilyn Manson's looks interesting, I cracked it open in the book store recently and read only a few pages, but might gab it one of these days. Quote
Aero Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 stop droping hints, we're not doing secret santa!!!! and even if we were, none of us love you enough to get you something you actually want. you'd get a turnip from me! Quote
Big Bizang Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 No shit but Vic Reeves autobiography was fucking hilarious. Probably because most of the time you don't whether he's being serious or not. Funniest autobiography I've ever read and not in the least pretentious. But being an aussie you're probably not too fussed about the memoirs of an obscure Northern English Comedian. Quote
DX Kidd Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) If you read the motley crue one, then you might like the autobiography of Slash. Also, iPod 2 iPod http://www.downloadatoz.com/ipod-to-ipod/ Edited November 26, 2008 by DX Kidd Quote
crunk Posted November 27, 2008 Author Posted November 27, 2008 Sweet as. Yeah that Scar tissue one about the Red Hot Chili Peppers is definitely on my to-buy list. I actually ended up buying a new book yesterday - Nikki Syxx: The Heroin Diaries. I haven't started reading it yet, but it pretty much seems like an individual follow up to the Motley Crue book I've just read, so it should be interesting. Strictly only Autobiogs? Ummm well yeah pretty much hey. I've never really gotten into fiction books. The last one I've read, not including 1/4 of a Harry Potter book, is the Magic Faraway Tree series by Enid Blyton.. lawl. Haha nah I shouldn't mock them, they were actually awesome. I'm fairly new to books. If it wasn't an autobiography, I assume it would have to be something unbelievably awesome to catch my attention long enough to read the book. xoxo Quote
crunk Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 Anyone have any new suggestions for me? Since my last post, I've read: - TommyLand: The Tommy Lee Story... a little outrageous but entertaining and straight up. - Scar Tissue... like Matt said before, it was pretty tedious and a little repetitive at times, but it was good. - ROY: Andrew Symonds... was good if you have a bit of background knowledge about cricket. Aero Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 don't touch the pickle by elvis costello is fantastic, give it a look Quote
crunk Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 I know the name, but I'm honestly not too sure who he is... I'll definately suss it out. I've just recently bought a few more books.. they kind of contrast to say the least. - Of mice and Men - Animal farm (Those were two books I was made to read in school back in the day.. I think I could actually apprieciate them now rather then just use it as a doorstop.) - Tony Hawks Auto-biography Quote
Aero Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 theres a movie of animal farm, much better lmao Quote
crunk Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 haha yeah, that was a cartoon hey? I think we had to watch it. Quote

Thom Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Catcher in the Rye is my favourite book ever, and extremely easy to read even with a short attention span. Quote
Subrick Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 The Divine Comedy, Paradise Lost, and Heart of Darkness. 3 books I've read in the past year, and loved all of them. Quote
Thom Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Mark Chapman was obsessed with Catcher in the Rye. As a bit of trivia, my friend's grandmother lent John Lennon a copy of the book when they were at University together. Quote
RingMaster2001 Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 The Divine Comedy, Paradise Lost, and Heart of Darkness. 3 books I've read in the past year, and loved all of them. You have picked 3 of the most influential, cultural and classical pieces, that there is no way you have read them all in the last year. It's almost as bad as saying that you've read the Koran, the Bible and the Guru Granth Sahib in the last year. Quote

Maybe if he'd said he read War and Peace, The Illiad and Ulysses. Quote
