yo, Phone peoples.

so instead of googling, Im hitting up a wrestling board.

I know a few of you are in to the tech side of phones, so...

right, I've had two handsets now, that have both conked out on me. The first, I got at the start of the year, and its only just this month died - it decided I couldnt make any calls, or receive any calls. Same deal with messaging. Everything I tried, it just said "CALL FAILED" etc.

So, annoyed, I thought it was T-Mobile (losers.) Trying the sim in a different handset, though, proved it was the handset that was borked, not my account.

Cut my losses, bought a cheap phone two weeks ago. Only, now thats done the same thing. Brand new phone, within two weeks, and I cant make or receive calls or texts etc.

Theres no warning on this happening - they are all constantly on, but suddenly decide it wont work. The handsets are not the problem - my parents have the same ones (lame!) but they have worked longer, and still work. So neither is the house location the problem, or my accounts.

I've narrowed it down, to, the charger point im using perhaps frying the receiver/thing? is that even possible? Even then, I'm reluctant to say its that, as they dont stop working immediately once charged - I've charged and left for two days, for example, and THEN they stop.

Is it a cold problem? My room is pretty cold...

Help me out here phone gangstas, because I'm reluctant to pick up another phone until I know whats doing this

As an edit, Its not that they are barred I dont think. Ive not done anything shady, all I do is speak to the woman on it, receive calls from the woman, or phone home.

you know you have to let your phone completely run out of battery and fully recharge to keep them in mint codition. i can't figure out the probelem, but give aero a wee shout, he works in the phone shop, remember.

doubt its a charging issue, all iains advice will serve to do is keep ur battery lasting longer, have seen something similar happen before and it turned out the guy was working near electro magnets / static charges or something, something magnet related anyways lol, he's a welder... dunno if that helps lol, but he had 3 phones, same problems on each, he even had a sony ericsson w810 which we rarely had problems with.

theres also a slight chance its water damage, but i'd pretty much rule that out due to getting the exact same fault in 2 phones.

finally, T-mobile are gay!

in short... where do you work? or do you carry magnets around in ur pocket?

I can see Dave at work now...

Customer: Excuse me, my phone isn't working.

Dave: Sir, is that a magnet in your pocket?..

yeah I know T-Mobile are beyond gay

Water damage, iono, I think might be a possibility. Given the coldness and potential dampness, theres a chance it fucks it up?

I got my current phone working again by taking out the sim card, rubbing it to fuck, then putting it back in, though that doesnt do the trick on my older one.

Dont work near magnets, just close to a PC all day every day.

what type of phones?

really doubt water damage to be honest, tho most phones have a wee white square/strip either on/under/near the battery which has a few wee dots on it, usually if its turned pink then its a sign of water damage.

..... hmmmmmm
