GREEN BAY, Wis. - Brett Favre will be reinstated and added to the Green Bay Packers' active roster Monday.

The NFL announced the move Sunday. Commissioner Roger Goodell had held off on granting Favre's request for reinstatement for nearly a week. He hoped Favre and the team could resolve their standoff. By reinstating Favre, Goodell is following through on a recent promise to force action.

The reinstatement will become effective at noon on Monday.

PBBBBT! I don't know why Favre is pulling a Michael Jordan on us but it'll be somewhat interesting to see how this turns out.

He needs to go lay down, this whole retirement thing was just him looking to get more money.

Why does he keep coming back? The day he retires is the day he dies.

I don't know, but I have a feeling he's going to end up here with the Vikings. We're going to give up like 3 players and 4 draft picks and he'll get injured, never playing a game for the Vikes. Now here's the kicker, he won't get hurt during practice, He'll end up getting a splitner doing a trick shot in pool and his arm will have to be amputated...

Sounds like fun, and your probably right. I mean his team must be getting annoyed by now with all his switching back and forth.

I kinda feel sorry for Aaron Rogers, I'm starting I'm not starting, I'm starting I'm not starting.

My guess is he'll end up with the Buc's or like Don said the Vikings.

Oh, God forbid. The last thing we need down here in Florida is another dipshit who can't make up his damn mind on the simplest of choices.

Favre, who announced his NFL playing career was over in March, was expected to be introduced at a 6 p.m. news conference at Cleveland Browns Stadium before the Jets played their first exhibition game.

Although Favre still must pass a physical and a run test, the NFL managing council approved the deal Thursday.

The Packers will receive a fourth-round draft pick in 2009 in return for Favre. The selection would turn into a third-rounder if Favre plays in 50 percent of the plays this season, a second-rounder if he plays in 70 percent and the Jets make the playoffs, or a first-round pick if he plays in 80 percent and the Jets make it to the Super Bowl.

Well, that settles that... for a year or three atleast.

The whole "escalating draft pick" idea is quite interesting because now that he's with the Jets, his whole drive and determination will effect his one-time allies' chances of becoming better. I wish him luck and hopes he has a good season and then retires for good.

Phil who cares about your floridan nfl teams when you have wade and dwight howard both there.

Good point. We also have the legendary Dan Marino, but D-Wade and Howard are the future and we also dumped Shaq outta here so we're actually in pretty good shape sports-wise. Now if only we could fire Jon Gruden...

Pretty much. May i add Michael beasley is the next big thing over there.
